5 Hook and Loop Replacement Backing Pad for Ryobi #300527002 - Compatible with Ryobi RS290, RS241, RS240, RS280/RS280VS, RS281VS, P411 Random Orbit Sander

I have the Ryobi RS241 and this said it would fit but I had to drill 4 more holes for the 4 alignment pins that are in-between the screw holes. Fortunately I had not yet thrown away my old pad, so I could use it as a guide. It took 30 mins to install.

The product page states that is fits the RS290 which is most helpful. I only gave the longevity rating 3 stars due to the dissolving nature of the rubber base from repeated heat friction from sanding--it goes with the product which, thanks to Amazon, can always be re-ordered.

The old hook and loop backing pad tore off my sander. This replacement works great and was delivered quickly.

This failed after one use. The holes for the screws opened up and the whole thing came loose.

bought this for my ryobi sander, not a perfect fit despite the model being named in the description.

I wasnt able to install it, the holes dont even line up!

There are no pin locator cut into this unit but if screwed in place will cause the locator pins to puncture the base. The cost is 1/2 of Home Depot.

Fit my sander perfectly.

If your sander is the old blue it will not line up to fit
