like it a lot, the only slight complaint is the volume is not very loud but I use a blue tooth speaker, my son will be putting xtra ram and harddrive, which I dont need but my son loves to do these things lol and it doesnt cost much to do it

I needed a laptop for fairly basic use. Basic games for my kids, Netflix, word, and excel. The most complicated program that I have on there is SPSS for statistics. It had enough memory to support the trial and my other programs.

Good screen and processor. Ram slot and space for additional disk are very useful. Feels lightweight for the size.

System froze. Did a hard restart and it got stuck in a neverending loop of loading screen with a message please wait while system updates and shutting off. Couldnt remove any updates. Couldnt reset to factory settings. Acer couldnt fix it. Microsoft couldnt fix it. Had to return.

Best computer I have owned

My old Lenovo became more hassle to use for several reasons so I decided to just get a new laptop. Im not a computer nerd and my needs are very simple so I looked at several review sites for low-priced laptops and found that several recommended the Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop. Im very happy with mine, its light, thin, good looking, has a great display, back-lit keyboard and, to me, is blindingly fast. I like that it has a solid state drive as well. The only thing I dont like is the huge built-in mouse pad because its too easy to hit while typing; however its no issue for me because I normally use a wireless mouse so I keep the pad disabled. Another issue is it comes with something called Windows S mode which blocks the installation of programs that are not approved by Microsoft. Since almost all of the programs that I use (including the Chrome browser and Quicken) were blocked, I disabled the S mode. Once disabled, the S mode is gone for good and I say good riddance! Its a great machine if it fits your needs!

Sleek design and good performance. The machine comes with a good enough processor, and the 4GB of ram goes farther than you think it would. However if you are inclined to add more you can do so. I have had it for 3 months and already had to take it to computer repair he said its cheap cheap send it back. It locked me out of my online banking nobody could figure it out. I say save a few more bucks up and get a good computer.

I use it for my basic needs - ie. emails, FB, Twitter. I keep all my files on One Drive and Photos on Google.

La pc ha estado todo el tiempo sobre un escritorio y tiene varios pixeles muertos, no me tome el tiempo de revisarla a tiempo desde un inicio, ahora paso el tiempo de devolucion, el problema es que solo son visibles sobre fondos negros, asi que ojo con eso.
