Ssd 450 MB/s, seems need to be xmp enabled in bios to gain full memory speed, not heating, fingerprint works fast, battery life 5 hours for light load.

We took a chance with this laptop based on the specs alone. However, our expectations have been exceeded by how well it performs! We use this for coding class, and so far it hasnt disappointed us. The only thing we wished was better was the battery life. Your mileage may vary though, depending on your use.

Im not a guy who buy computers every now and then, but just when needed, and my previous personal computer which was bought 8-10 years ago began to ralentize in a critical way, the operate system couldnt be updated any more (it went through W8 to W10), the processor speed didnt comply with the new requirements to go to W11, I worked so much with Microsoft Excell and I needed to upgrade to it but I didnt have the conditions to get it, so many issues like this were pushing me to get a new personal computer. Since I retired very recently from work, I had to suspend the use of that computer and the one that I had for my personal usage didnt get the job anymore. So I had to look for a new one which had my minimum requirements (speed processor, ram, storage capacity, battery long life and light keyboard) and the lowest possible price. This one fulfilled my requirements and Im very happy with the result so far.

My stalwart HP gave out on me after 9 years of faithful service, in the middle of the semester, so I had to scramble to replace it. I had never heard of Acer but I liked the specs, the price and the fact that the memory could be expanded easily. Though I miss the touch screen capability, and the CD drive, I am enjoying the Acer. It has bluetooth, is not heavy and the graphite look is attractive to me. I use it mainly for school, not gaming.

I bought this for its versatility to be able to use Android apps. I use it for work, and also music apps, and background tracks. It has replaced my 2nd Acer Aspire, which was also great. It is lightweight, and comes with a nice carry case.

Update: Opened it up, today 3/2/2023. Found out that it is pretty simple inside. A Kingston NVME which is good, though no dram cache, and I also found a very very beefy cooler though there is a caveat. Normally, a cooler contacts the onboard iGPU as well as the cpu, but there was no contact with the iGPU and the plate was cut to avoid it. I think the design, which has solder points for a embedded graphics card, with two ram chip spots, a gpu socket, and power delivery traces on the board, was meant to be routed over the embedded gpu. That would mean that the iGPU didnt need to be cooled. I was able to fix the lack of contact with a heat pad, I think a 0.5 thickness pad. It was not a high thermal transfer style, but anything thicker than 0.5 would cause a lack of contact with the CPU and thermal control would become a issue. The beefy cooler offers a dual fan setup, which is well made, and a lengthy fin array to dissipate heat delivered from two wide heat pipes that seem routed to perfectly go over where a embedded GPU would be. The whole thing is quite a stretch, but can easily keep the CPU cool, and that now include the iGPU which doesnt seem to be monitored by the motherboard.

I cant rate its performance yet because I havent tried it. I can tell you that the casing is made of rough, recycled material that reminds me of a concrete building. I may not keep it for this reason alone.
