Greater than one weekthis is a genius child safety item.. pros: - genius lock system that is simple and easy to use - does not have any kind of glue or stickiness that will mess up my furniture. - durable material that makes this item lasting -adjustable to most cabinet distances of handles cons: - need shoehorn style handles to work. the only negative I found and that is something that cannot be changed, the item needs a particular type of handles to be useful. all i need to do is slide the closing piece in and the teeth in the back will keep them secured, once I wanna open he cabinet I press the opening piece and slide out releasing it from the teeth and it slides right open, pretty simple system! but overall this is a pretty well made safety system that is effective and not bad looking at all.

> 3 day********************************************************************************************************** UPDATE - based on my original review (below) the seller emailed me. Seller apologized for sending me defective merchandise and processed a full refund. Based on this stellar customer service I would give the product another try, but Ive already installed a bunch of inner cabinet locks and have no need now for any more locks ********************************************************************************************************** The unlocking process requires just the right amount of pressure on two small tabs. Not enough pressure and the gripping teeth will not disengage. Too much pressure and the whole U-shaped portion distorts enough that you cant separate the 2 pieces.

> 3 dayi got these to keep my new puppy from getting into a couple of cabinets. they re simple to install and not difficult to operate (though i do fumble with the litlle flanges one has to pinch in order t open them sometimes. they are very flimsy feeling, however. i doubt the pup is going to actually chew on them, and if she were, even very sturdy items of this sort are not meant to stand up to that. however, these are made of thin plastic. i feel i could snap then with a sharp wrist twist, unlike similar items i used many years ago when my son was a toddler. if you are planning to need them for any serious length of time, or to use them on a cabinet that you will be opening and closing often, i think they will not prove particularly durable. they are inexpensive, though.

> 3 dayI have a tuxedo cat that likes to get into the trash in the cabinet under the sink & he also broke the food bin, so we put that in a cabinet & weve had to actually put chairs in front of the 2 cabinets to keep him out. I cant have children, so my 3 cats mean everything to me. Hes a darling boy, incredibly loving, but absolutely ravenous & if he had his way, hed break into the food bin, rip open the food bag & eat to his hearts content. Many of food bags he has torn open. As I mentioned, he also likes to get into the trash. I had about enough of this behavior, so I purchased these locks. Very easy to install & open (for a human, that is). He tried for about 5 minutes & gave up. He hasnt tried again since. Hes a smart guy. He knows when hes been beat. So yeah, game over for him.

> 3 dayIf you want to keep you child out these work awesome. But if you want to perfect you baby from an explosion? We’ll look no further. We live in corn field Illinois. Last night there was a tornado and wicked hard core thunderstorms. These safety locks saved my 1 year old baby girl. We got hit by lightning and the locks held the cabinet closed when the entertainment cabinet decided to burst into flames. Photo show them open but that’s simply because I took it off

> 3 dayI use it for my grandsons safety. It gets monotonous to have to remove one of the pieces because it falls off.

> 3 dayWe needed something to keep our 16 month old out of kitchen cabinets. They do the job and are easy for us to take on and off. Our son isn’t able to remove them, as expected. Great price too! Would buy again.

> 3 dayAn inexpensive way to keep little fingers out the cupboards. If Im being critical, its a little annoying that they are in two parts (there are some more expensive ones which are one piece) but for the price, they work just fine. How to make it better? Make the fastener piece reversible, its like trying to insert a USB sometimes. You try one way then the other, then the first way again.

> 3 dayI like having a few of these at home to quickly lock up a cabinet that may have items that can be dangerous for children. The whit Color is not unsightly
