I needed to re caulk the space between the floor of my shower and the tile area. I planned on just trying to caulk over what was already there but decided to splurge on this tool. All $7 of the cost. Soooooo glad I did. Super easy to use and got the old stuff up and out of the way in less than 15 min. A must have for any job where you need to remove the old and replace with new!!!!

Its a great concept of a tool, but the plastic handle/connecting pieces arent sturdy enough. The metal could be a bit sharper. And the plastic piece that holds the blade cracked off within minutes of use. I guess I should have known better for a $6 tool LOL. I super glued and duct taped the piece back on so Im hoping to get more life out of it.

If you are looking to re-caulk anything - this is your tool! Dont fool yourself into thinking you could use a putty knife, or a straight edge you might already have at home. This tool is key because of the pointy METAL tip. I researched a few caulk tools and most were all plastic. I bought this one because of the metal tip. It helped removed 20 year old caulk in my bathtub. Not the most fun job, but this tool helped A LOT!

It isnt clear why this is called a 3 in 1 tool as it seems to have only two functions. It removes SOME of the old caulk and then smooths the new caulk. The fixed and non-replaceable cutting blade is rather wide so it does not get deep into the gap between tiles. In trying to get it to get more (enough) of the old caulk I applied too much pressure resulting in scaring the top of the tub. I had hoped the tool would allow one to remove all the caulk by digging deep into the tile gap. I had to resort to using a small screwdriver for that important function. The second function for the tool is to smooth the new caulk. This entails using a rubber foot which has 3, yes 3, different angles. My guess is that this is the 3 in 3 in 1. The smoothing tool works almost as well as a wet finger but saves you from the horror of having caulk on your finger. :-) I was not able to get the cute smooth tool to get a good curve in the corners so resorted to using my finger and finally just went back to finger everywhere which was faster and easier to control - for me anyway. This is a typical Chinese product with very little useful information about usage. The usage information is in the attached image. The construction of the tool is good. It would have been better if the cutting blade angle was more acute so the blae would go into the tile gaps.

I had high hopes for this little tool, especially considering the positive reviews. Unfortunately, I still find the old index finger out performs this tool for working with caulk, IMO.

I consider myself fairly handy around the house, but the one thing I have a problem with is caulking. My wife searched out this little tool on Amazon and it is absolutely GREAT. No muss, no fuss, did a fantastic job.

I used this device to help remove some old bathtub caulk. Surprisingly, it actually helped some. This device and more importantly my razor knife and razor scraper did the job with some elbow grease. This was my first use of this device and I haven’t yet replaced with new silicone caulk so I currently can’t rate the spreader attachment. Can’t find any value in the small plastic scraper (the third feature). Overall, for under $10, the device did help some in removing the old caulk.

I originally purchased this intending to only use it as a caulk remover. I didnt get a chance to use it as one yet, but ended up using the smoothing tool and it works fantastic to smooth out caulk. Im not really a believer in caulk smoothing tools and havent found anything that worked better than a wet finger, but this tool does a better job of smoothing it out. The adjustable sizes is also very helpful, and excessive caulk is easy to clean off the silicone tip. It works so well Ive even found you dont need to damp the caulk or tip before smoothing out. Hopefully the caulk remover also works just as well. Highly recommend this, and for around $5 its a bargain.
