Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug with 2 Individually Controlled Outlets, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Works with Alexa Only

i have several of the Amazon Basics alexa smart plugs in the house, and felt like this would be a cool addition for my porch. It basically would never setup in the alexa app, even after factory reseting it twice and looking for it manually ( vs the included qr code.) i ended up useing one of my basics power strips on the porch to run my lights. Womp womp.

This smart plug works great with Alexa. It was very easy to configure in the Alexa app and I like that it has two plugs that have two separate identities. It is also waterproof and should work great in the backyard.

I own various brands of smart plugs but none were as simple to setup as this one. The waterproof rating is important because I’m using it outdoors with no shelter from the weather.

This plug works so much easier than other outdoor plugs with their own apps where you need to enable a ‘skill’ for it to work with Alexa. Pair this with the Alexia app and done!

Worked as expected

I created a couple of routines, and the outlet often forgets to perform them. Also frequently becomes unresponsive

Easy to setup and control with the Alexa app! Can setup timers to control on/off schedules. Terrific for holiday lights and decorations. The outlet covers aren’t very secure so I wouldn’t want to used it in a wet environment.

I am not a computer tech person so I was so glad that I plugged it in, told Alexa to recognize it and it worked. Yay for Me!

Bought this for the lawn decoration during Halloween and Christmas the automation of it all put my mind at ease.

I used to use a standard Amazon smart plug to control my Christmas lights with Amazon routines. But periodically it would cut out and Id have to reset it, likely because it was in a cold garage. This outside rated one hasnt had an issue all season even with it getting below 0 (Fahrenheit), so happy with my purchase
