This CPU is all youll need for the most part unless youre pushing the boundaries. Very good performance for the money spent.

Why should you buy the 2700 and not the 2700x? Because the X variant is mostly just an overclocked version of the 2700 (although it does come with a better cooling solution).

This processor is excellent and is the absolute best value. I paired it with a Asus ROG Strix B450-F Motherboard, MSI Armor MK2 RX 570 8GB OC GPU, G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB(3200), Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD/PNY 240 GB SSD, and an EVGA 750W PSU. It posted right away and has handled everything Ive thrown at it with ease. I upgraded the cooling fan to a Wraith Prism cooler and it keeps it very cool. I can easily Overclock this processor to 4.0Ghz and it still runs cool and stable. The included thermal paste pad was too much so I cleaned it off and put my own on. Under heavy load the warmest Ive seen it is low 60s C. Keep up the good work AMD!

Installed into a MSI Tomahawk max B450 motherboard with 3200 OLOy RAM it works great. Now if I could say the same thing about Microsoft operating system Id be ecstatic.

Wow. Positively amazing. This was an upgrade to an older Haswell era i7. I thought, sure itll be a bit faster. No..oh no...Its like the first time you experienced a SSD versus a HDD. This is an absolute MONSTER of a CPU. Ive been using it at the heart of a workstation for Next Generation Sequencing analysis, where 8 cores is about the minimum necessary, and I was blown away by the speed of this CPU.
