This comb works great for cats and dogs. There is a coarse tooth side and a fine tooth side. The fine teeth work great at removing the loose hairs on our short haired cats and dog. The coarse side I use on our long haired cats and on our Australian Shepherd. The top is smooth and round so the comb was very comfortable in my hand, and the teeth are not sharp so you can get down to the skin during a comb out. Only one of our cats didnt seem to enjoy it much. But the rest of the cats and our dogs seemed to really like being groomed with this comb.
