This product is pretty good! The size is nice and fits quite well in a 10 gallon tank! Be aware that it only comes with the base (sponge) and the tube (as the picture shows). You will have to separately buy an air pump to go with it. It gives off plenty of oxygen and bubbles. You and your fish should be happy with this product :) I also used it for my mud-puppy (a tiger salamander in larval form), and it worked wonderfully for him. I also recommend this filter for baby fish or axolotls/mud-puppies because it is gentle and not very rough (making it easier on the animal). Hope this helps!

Overall Im happy with the purchase. I bought the small for a 5 gallon tank and its a little large for a tank that small. There isnt much weight to the base so you really have to pre-soak the sponge to make it sink.

Great product for a filter ... I use it for shrimp keeping and it gives the shrimp a place to hide and acts like a filter

Nice size sponge filters

I love this type of filter, but this one has a very strong chemical smell (petrochemical?). I rinsed for a long while, with very little affect so I have been running it on an air pump in a 5-gallon bucket of water for 5 days to see if I can resolve the issue. I have changed the water about eight times now and the water still has the strong smell. I could smell the odor in water about ten feet away from the bucket when I started, now I smell when I am about two feet over the bucket. It is getting better day by day. It has now been close to two weeks since I started the process. The odor subsided after 10 days on an air pump and 100+ gallons of water changes. I have moved the filter to a 55-gallon tank with a canisters filer. I will move it to a new guppy grow out tanks after it has been “seeded” with good bacteria.

I love these kinds of filters for bettas because theyre relatively gentle, but I think I may have gotten a defective one from this seller. The plastic tube that connects to the top of the filter didnt fit, so my filter is just spewing bubbles in a wider frame and more vigorously than it would if the bubbles were guided through the tube as intended. Overall though, its a good quality sponge, and my large betta doesnt seem to mind the extra surface agitation.
