I am NOT using these in an aquarium. I am using them to filter the cooling tower water at an ice skating rink. The tower is located at ground level and has a LOT of water circulating through it. We had a problem in that the water would pick up contaminants out of the air (dust, leaves, assorted junk that you wouldnt want to breathe) and as a result, the chemical treatment apparatus was getting clogged. I installed a filter on the return pipe (from the tower to the sump), and within a day, the water was clear enough to see to the bottom of the four-foot tank. Ive been changing the filters about every five days, and all remains well.

It is hard to find this item at local pet stores. It’s somebody that keeps reef tanks for a hobby these pieces of equipment are very important. I was glad to find them on Amazon and add a reasonable price.
