Not all thermal greases are the same. If youre custom-building a rig, Arctic Silver 5 should be just as essential to that build as the motherboard.

Ive repaired hundreds of PCs for my customers and when replacing the CPU or just the heat sink, youve got to replace the grease compound. After an alcohol cleaning, I spread a very thin application of Artic Silver 5 over the heat sink area and the CPU. This will provide a good heat transfer from the CPU to the heat sink, preserving youre CPU. I do recommend this product for this purpose.

Does what its intended for !!

Great product, cools super well. I have even used this for non computer applications (car components with heatsinks) and it works terrific. I do have to say though that with HIGH temp uses (laptops especially) that reach 60c on a regular basis youll need to change the paste once a year or the temperatures will suffer. It does dry out and doesnt stay goopy when its exposed to extreme heat like that, but I doubt anything will.

this is the first time using Arctic Silver and I would recommend it to everyone, my home office is often over 80 degrees even with the ceiling fan its just a qwerk of my house. But this product keeps my CPU at about 35 degrees C and that is at load, so I am very happy.
