I didn’t use the mounting bracket because there isn’t a good place in a 2007 Volvo S40 for any phone mount I tried. I mounted the ball right below the hazard switch. Just had to pull out the center vent assembly, drill a hole and mount it. Works perfect and is rock solid!!

just what i needed for my phone holder in a big truck

The mount itself seems good, as it fits my phone holder and seems solidly constructed, but it didnt come with any screws, so I have to find screws that will fit before I can actually use it. To be fair, it didnt say it came with screws, but most other mounting systems Ive ever bought came with screws. It should say Screws not included.

Anyone who uses car phone holder/mount knows that the weak link is the ball joint. Its usually in plastic and breaks easily if you fasten hard enough. Buy this metal one and youll no longer worry about the sturdiness issue. I love it!

I used this in addition to some random bracket I found at Lowes to make a sturdy phone mount for my car because my old one basically melted in the heat. Anyway, the ball size fits most phone mounts youll find on the market. Super sturdy and slightly heavy but its made completely out of metal so thats to be expected.
