Depending on your artistic approach to pencil based drawing a sketch may be just a rough draft or the whole deal. With this set, I title it all skill levels, because sketching has a broad definition. This means and adult or a child can enjoy this set due to its contents being able to contribute to either skill level. A seasoned artist can use a set like this for a certain piece that does not need some super high end pencils or they can use it for early versions leading up to the Masterpiece. I am conveniently reading Emil Zolas The Masterpiece where the artists live in large studios covered in sketches and a set like this can be a constant companion to the sketch artist or even a painter. With this neat box of supplied from the Artownlar brand I have found a set of everything I need to replenish my utensils for sketching. This can be used for a travel situation where you can take this box with you and have a compact art studio all in one. I like the idea of having one zip up book full of regular to dark colored pencils then having another binder contraption full of color based pencils. I say pencils because that is the dominant thing in each of them but there are other essential things like charcoal variations of that tool you use to etch in the charcoal which name escapes me at the moment. The regular set is an lack of better term definition I am using to describe the opposite of the color set. This one contains the 12 water soluble and metallic pencils as well as a dozen graphite pencils. I enjoy attempting to make shading based drawings and this set makes it easy for me to do that in a mobile fashion. What is meant by this is I can take this set with me to a wooded area, which is common where I live in Ohio therefore making this a portable affair. I can sit there meditating in nature waiting on the right moment of inspiration. When that moment comes i can take out the set and begin to capture the thoughts turned to the sketching medium. In conclusion I am very happy with this set and recommedn it for anyone into sketch based art. The sketch book is neat in that is has a several different colors along with the traditional white sheets. I found it fun to utilize the black sheets as well as the ten or sepia colored variations.

Excellent choice for any artist. If you have children, it comes with a razor. I didn’t read the description closely enough prior to purchasing.
