> 3 dayI purchased these as an open box. Running through my system with an RME DAC (add bass shelf an tame one peak) with either a tube amp or my solid state, these rival much more expensive headphones. I alternate back and forth between these and my ZMF Verites, which are more than double the price. The ZMF have better stage, more bass impact, and slightly more resolution (SLIGHTLY). Overall technical qualities are maybe 10% better on the verite.

> 3 dayI used to think typical good value audiophile headphones all sounded decent (beyerdynamic dt990 250ohm) but they all sounded the same to me. The day I put these on after they came in was the day I felt my hair crease due to my inability to take these off. I have never heard something so close to a live concert experience wearing headphones or listening to speakers. With these, you wont need to research 192kb lossless, because mp3s on these sound better than lossless on any other headphone. Adding lossless to these and you feel something magical. The sound quality of the mids is surreal and the bass is extremely fast with no bleed due to the amazing planar magnetics, not to mention the highs are bright enough but never overwhelming. Soundstage isnt insane, but with the clarity and paring of balanced cables, good dac and amp, it will show through. Build quality is extremely good, all metal build feels very sturdy but can be much heavier than expected. Some people say they cant have these on for more than an hour but I can easily wear these for over 5 without a need to take them off. Sometimes it needs adjustments due to my larger ears touching the fazors on the inside but nevertheless a great lounging or chilling headphone. Watching movies with these feels better than an actual movie theater where sound intimacy is at the highest. Make sure you EQ these if you get them, theres quite a few EQ settings for these and they all make it better than new. The cables it comes with are expensive and seemingly fragile so keep them from kinking or pulling, otherwise opt in for some balanced XLR cables off amazon or somewhere else. Dont believe what other reviewers say when these arent endgame headphones, I dont ever see myself spending 5x the price of these for 5% more quality especially with the advantage these have over typical 500$ headphones. If you ARENT a hypercritical audiophile, buy these and dont look anywhere else, you will find yourself in a rabbit hole spending money like a kid in a candy store.

> 3 dayThe Audeze LCD X 2021 are the BEST HEADPHONES FOR VALUE OF MONEY, Period! The Sounds coming from this headphone r the most truest to the music! It produces a common copy of the actual recording w/o any coloring to the music. If there’s a lot of bass in the recording, then these cans will produce you a lot of bass. If there’s little to less bass, then it’ll feed you little to less bass.

> 3 daySounds transparent a bit different though compared to traditional cone based headphones. I didn’t find it to be bass heavy as some reviews suggest. Important to take a listen before you go for it.

> 3 dayThese headphones are absolutely incredible. If you are reading this im sure you’ve read other reviews. These have incredible tonality, imaging, and sound stage. These are “reference” headphones geared toward music production and will need some boost in the low frequencies for most people. But they respond perfectly to EQ and sound incredible.

> 3 dayI have been using Phillips X2s and Fostex T50RPMK3s for the last 5-7 years. I decided to test out a couple of upgrades. I bought 2 new pairs of headphones: Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros, and the Audeze LCD-X.

> 3 dayDefinitely an improvement, with a bit of weight loss and some actually decent tuning, making the LCD-X competitive with higher tier and more expensive cans. Their still the heaviest in my collection but are sonically weightier then most along with its better dynamics, instrument separation and sound stage.

> 3 dayI have been a headphone guy for the past several years, an audio guy for over four decades and a music lover since I was a child growing up in the 1960s. The headphone craze began for me back in the later 90s while working a second shift job because my wife and newborn would be sleeping when I arrived home and I was unable to immediately go to sleep but didnt want to wake them. Over the years I have amassed a small collection of headphones, all good, but the LCD-X is INSANE!

> 3 daythese new 2021 with Audezes eq on roon are amazing the best headphones ive ever heard and even better for electronic music. yes theres better but this is best price point to buy headphones at anything more and youre going to need expansive amps and dacs to make a difference. even though these have low impedance i still recommend a good amp for these. something like the Schiit audio asgard 3 is amazing for these.
