> 3 dayHeard so many great things about Aurifil, thought I would give it a try, but the thread keeps breaking! I was using this on my sewing machine for quilt piecing, with 100% quilting cotton fabric. Very frustrating, thought this would be my new go-to thread, but makes me not want to try the Aurifil brand ever again... Update: Based on others’ reviews, I did try Aurifil again, but purchased the thread through the company that I purchase quilting fabrics from. That thread does NOT break! I think the others are right, the one sold here must either be counterfeit or somehow the quality has been degraded.

> 3 dayI have always used Aurifil thread for my quilting and when I found it at this sale price I thought I was getting a good deal. Well, the thread that I received is dry rotted and kept breaking while I was sewing. Dont waste your money on this sale .

Greater than one weekThis is a great find! I have been looking for cotton thread for some time and while I can generally find cotton covered with poly or a mix of the two, it has been some time that I have been able to locally source pure cotton thread. The weight it perfect and at 1300m I should be able to complete a good sized project or two before I would need to replace the spool. It runs through both my machines fine (Singer & a Brother) and bobbins wind quite nicely as well. Not only does it sew well but afterwards it feels like it was meant to be part of the quilt. Should you make a mistake and need to rip threads this came out with no hassles even when I was using a higher stitch count. It is a 3 tall spool with a base of about 1.5 so it may not fit on some traditional machines. I was lucky, it fits on the Singer like a charm. If you have a smaller spool area you may want to grab a stand alone base for this type of spool.
