> 3 dayWobbly umbrella upon opening the package. The pole of the umbrella that connects to the handle is looser than a drunk college freshman girl at a frat party. Also, it’s only big enough for one person. I read a lot of reviews on this specific umbrella and I’m upset I bought this. There are better umbrellas out there for a similar price point. EDIT: Changed from 1 star based on product (possible lemon) to 5 stars simply to customer service. Diane was very accommodating and dedicated to fixing the problem, and offered another umbrella at a 99% discount, as amazon doesnt allow free items. I opted for the Walking Stick umbrella https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075TCW4LV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 instead of the folding travel umbrella, and the craftsmanship is excellent! Happy to give Balios another try, especially after their superior customer service.

20-11-2024***UPDATE*** After posting my initial review, the seller contacted me about replacing the malfunctioned umbrella within a couple of days. The replacement process was extremely easy; no returning of the old product was required or asked. It was fast, efficient, and the representative that contacted me was very nice and professional. Ive been using this umbrella for almost a month now and NO PROBLEMS. One happy customer now with a working, comfortable and good-looking umbrella! Would order again. (PS: mom still loves hers) --original review-- After hunting for a stylish umbrella and reading lots of reviews I decided to purchase this Balios Travel Umbrella. Actually, I bought 2; one for my mom and the other for myself. Lets start with the good, shall we? These are beautiful umbrellas. Theyre sturdy, the smooth wooden handle is comfortable, and the fabric is of great quality. The grey color is handsome and true to the photos. I was happy when they arrived and my mom is very happy with her gift. Sadly, mine lasted one use. I get out of my car, excited to pop open my new umbrella (its been an embarrassingly long time since Ive had one) and get to to store. I try to press the auto button again for it to collapse and find that it is still pressed in. See attached photo. So, there is no closing this umbrella now unless I manually collapse it and wrap it shut. Which is a pain. Also frustrating when I need to use it I unwrap it and it shoots open like a rocket. Is it worth the money? Absolutely, if it functioned correctly.

> 3 dayReally good umbrella. A little on the heavy side. Took away a star because no wristlet in umbrella. Only on the cover, which sometimes I put away! Difficult when having to carry several items in your hand.

> 3 dayA spoke broke after a couple of months of use. I had to manually fix by hand upon every use.

> 3 dayReally nice quality. The auto-close/open is solid built and a great feature. The wood isnt as dense as I thought it would be, but its still smooth and nice to the touch. The handle is fantastic to hold. Im a big guy with large hands and hate the compact umbrellas with the handle smaller than the width of my palm because it makes holding on to the umbrella so awkward. This umbrella does not suffer from that at all. I can get a nice grip on it without feeling like Im awkwardly squeezing my hand too tightly and my pinky isnt dangling at the bottom with nothing to hold on to. If itll fit my hand, its probably going to fit just about anybodys hand. I picked this umbrella because I wanted something that could fit in my backpack, but bigger than your typical compact umbrella. I do wish the umbrella was a little wider, I feel a little rain coming in from the sides BUT ! this is because Im wearing a full backpack all the time, so Im taking up more space than usual. On top of that, I live in Florida and the rain this time of year is brutal. I think the umbrella is more than wide enough, its just my particular situation is extra tough to accommodate. I almost forgot to mention that water does not stick to this thing, at all. When I go to close it, its almost completely dry even after getting hit by these monstrous Florida downpours. The only thing I cant comment on is how it will hold up over time. My greatest concern is that the auto open/feature means moving parts, and moving parts means more potential points of failure. Ive used it quite a bit this past month and it shows no signs of degrading at all, I think it will hold up for the long run. If it doesnt, this review will definitely be edited to reflect anything I discover. But even assuming it holds up for just a year down here in windy/rainy South Florida, I still think itd be doing really great for the price.

> 3 dayEvery hinge is rusting. I wouldn’t expect that after only two months. I’m worried that the wet rust is going to get on my clothes, so unfortunately I can’t use this anymore - other than the rust it’s great.

15-11-2024Very, very happy when I received this. I love the look of a long handled (or golf) umbrella, but its just not practical for me in the city on tight sidewalks and lots of other people with umbrellas. But I didnt want a cheap plastic umbrellas that would break either on the handle or from the wind. This umbrella is more than the perfect medium in between. The wood handle was important to me for looks, and its also very ergonomic and comfortable to carry. When its windy, the vent lets the air pass through, but more importantly, doesnt spray water through the vent. When its not raining, it fits nicely in my coat pocket without falling out. This is the umbrella I was looking for!

> 3 dayIt needs a strap to hang to dry ON the umbrella handle itself. There is a strap on the case, but when youre hanging it to try, you dont want it in a case; you want it hanging loose and free. Its also very heavy, so not ideal for lightweight travel. I keep mine in the driver door of my car.

> 3 dayTiene un mecanismo de apertura rápido y fuerte, tal vez niños pequeños no deben manipularlo. Los acabados son buenos y el mango cómodo de portar. Para una persona es adecuado, ya dos, alguno se mojará un poco. La estructura del varillaje es fuerte. Sin embargo hay que cuidarlo y no prestarlo, porque mi esposa lo dejó en un taxi.

> 3 dayIts exactly what I wanted. A simple, easy to use and compact umbrella. The wooden finished handle is a nice touch. The canopy is truley water proof unlike the earlier umbrella I used to have. After I got indoors from a walk in pouring rain with the earlier one, I would collapse the canopy and shake it vigorously to dry it. Yet it would have water droplets that would spill everywhere till it dried. This one though, you get indoors, you collapse the canopy, give it one shake and the water is gone. Completely. My last umbrella lasted me a year and without warning one day it went kaput. Balios has offered to give me a 2 year unconditional warranty. I am not exactly sure what that means but I am taking the offer. Also I am not entirely sure what purpose the vented double canopy serves. I believe it is heat dissipation on a hot day. Havent had a chance to experience it yet.
