It is an essential piece for this glass vessel sink. It made for easy installation, placement, and adjustability.

We have matte black Vigo vessel sinks in my new master bathroom. They did not sit flat and we could not find the part from the manufacturer (it didn’t come with the sink). I was tired not able to find affordable rings in matte black to match the sinks so I ordered theses on a whim. They appear more copper than brass which made me incredibly happy. They solved my problem with the sink not being flat while adding a great hidden accent for an affordable price!

We installed a vessel sink in the RV to give us more room underneath the cabinet (by bringing the p-trap up and moving the sink up from hanging below). This mounting ring offers wide support and is very solid. We are pleased with how it looks and the chrome matches the faucet nicely too. The ring comes with a clear silicone insulator that prevents metal from contacting the glass. This is necessary and hardly visible through our transparent sink bowl. This isnt a cheap hollow pot-metal product, but a solid heavy brass piece that will work well in any sink project you have, even in extreme environments like this RV!.

My local water is rather calcified, and if not cleaned properly right away, items get the hard water spots. I began to notice my clear vessel sink had hard water spots in places that shouldnt normally have them, and discovered that the original mounting ring that came with the sink was rotting away. The finish was nearly gone, and it was not creating the proper seal. After doing some research here on Amazon, and reading reviews of this one, I bought 2. MUCH better products. Heavier, solid feel and finish to them. Very easy to install, and most important, NO LEAKS. Im very happy with the purchase, and highly recommend these. TBH, I wish I had known in advance, when installing the sinks originally, and saved myself the aggravation of rotting original parts.
