> 3 dayThis is a large backpack that will meet the requirements for many airlines as a carry-on. The pack is made of woven nylon in a tight weave. It has thick padding at the top and bottom of the back and padded shoulder straps but no hip straps. The bottom of the pack is reinforced with nylon in a thicker weave. The pack has a 1.5” wide nylon strap across the back in the middle. The back compartment is padded on both sides and has a laptop sleeve that will accommodate laptops up to 12” wide and 20” long. This compartment has a zipper that runs all the way to the bottom on both sides, allowing you to lay the compartment out flat. The main compartment measures 20”x13.5”x4”. It has criss-crossed diagonal elastic straps that clip in the middle for holding luggage steady. There are also 3 zippered mesh pockets on one side of this compartment. The zipper of this compartment opens on the top, bottom, and side, letting you open this compartment up like a suitcase. There is an additional full length compartment (13”x20”x1”) beyond this with several small organizer pockets for a phone, calculator or pens. A fourth compartment forms a 9.5”x9” pocket on the outside. This compartment also has 2 organizer pockets inside. A fifth compartment forms an 8.5”x6.5” pocket on the previous compartment. The backpack has 2 water bottle or umbrella pockets, one on each side. There are padded carrying handles on the top and side. Also included with the pack are 2 packing cubes, one measuring 13”x9”x2.5” and the other 11.5”x7”x1.5”. Each of the cubes has a mesh portion on the top enabling you to see what is in them. I like the roomy capacity of this pack—you can certainly fit a lot in it. But I wish it had hip straps. If you’re going without wheels, you will probably be carrying this pack some distance on your back. A hip strap would really be useful then. The pack seems sturdy, but mine had some loose threads sewn in the seam on the outside, showing a lack of care in finishing the product. Overall, this pack can hold a lot and will meet carry-on requirements for most airlines as long as it is not overstuffed.

> 3 dayI just took this bag on a trip to Europe and while the bag held up and did not break, it was really uncomfortable to wear. It could use thicker and more comfortable straps.

Greater than one weekWent to Europe for three weeks. No checked luggage, this backpack and messenger bag as carry-ons. Second city I was walking to hotel, zipper opened on large compartment, spilling my spare shoes and underwear onto the street. Had to safety pin the zipper pulls together on three large compartments to prevent further occurrences. 2nd week put back pack down on train station metal bench. Zipper pull caught in hole in bench and broke when I lifted it, making the zipper on that compartment unusable and thus the compartment unusable. Very disappointed.
