Greater than one weekI found this to be an excellent movie to watch with my 12 year old granddaughter. Great family movie. The movie depicts school bullying and also the difficulties of what some children go through in their home lives. Portrays a great friendship between the new girl at school and the boy that was picked on.

> 3 dayI was bored on a Saturday afternoon and decided to flip through the channels. When I came to this movie it was about a third of the way into it. I cant tell you what hooked me but it brought back many childhood memories for me. It drew me back to playing with my sisters and brothers or friends in intricatly designed fantasies from our forts of cardboard boxes to the evil neighbor kid who taunted us. This movie was a way back machine and brought out some emotion I hadnt expected. It takes you up and down and up again. It made me laugh and cry. I dont often watch kids movies anymore but I was so wanting to see it from the beginning that I looked for it and bought it. I gave it to a friend who I thought could use the fantasy and now I have to buy myself another copy. I would love to have shared this with my kids when they were younger but not too young to understand what was happening.

> 3 dayI have seen this movie several times, and I still cant get through it without crying. Im not an overly emotional kind of person, but this one hits right in the feels. Its a great movie though. Excellent actors, phenomenal storyline and visuals, wonderfully directed. My kids have requested it several times. Its a bit heavy for small children (mine are 3 and 4), but they love how the kids use their imagination to create a world full of magic and adventure. Its the kind of movie that sticks with you and its one of my favorites.

> 3 dayI have re watched this movie quite a lot. Growing up this is by far one of my favorite movies. The story line remained very close to the actual book with only some slight altercations. But all the actors did amazing in this movie. Even too this day Bridge to Terabithia is my favorite movie.

> 3 dayOne of my favorite movies, but is for my grandson. Was his favorite when he was four years old and count not see the TV until he got special glasses made. He remembered all the words. Must see for kids with dreams, And I didnt even think a four year old could say Terabithia. What does that tell you about the movie, full of dreams for an outcast. Still love it.

17-11-2024Id seen the trailer, but thats it. Given the current crop of fantasy movies, I was expecting a light, fluffy fantasy movie - NeverEnding Story, or the like. Boy was I ever wrong. Bridge to Terabithia was anything but light fantasy. Im glad I watched it alone - crying over movies is more my wifes domain, and I did plenty of sniffling. I dont see this as being a kids movie - nothing terribly objectionable, it just hit hard in spots I didnt have when I was a kid. The acting is very good - a good thing. Despite the trailer it was all about the characters and the story. There was comparatively little CG - no Star Wars or Lord of the Rings here. Just enough CG to support the story. Very tastefully done. My only disappointment is two bits of dialog, unnecessary to the story, that portray the usual Hollywood stereotype of Christianity. Disappointing, but not surprising, even from Disney. Aside from that one minor nit, I dont remember being hit as hard (in a good way) by a movie since I saw Apocalypse Now in the theater in 1979.

> 3 dayBridge to Terabithia is a work of childrens literature about two lonely children who create a magical forest kingdom. It was written by Katherine Paterson and was published in 1977 by Thomas Crowell. In 1978, it won the Newbery Medal. Paterson drew inspiration for the novel from a real event that occurred in August 1974 when a friend of her son was struck by lightning and killed. Bridge to Terabithia is the story of fifth grader Jesse Aarons, who becomes friends with his new neighbor Leslie Burke after he loses a footrace to her at school. Leslie is a smart, talented, outgoing tomboy, and Jesse thinks highly of her. Jesse is an artistic boy who, in the beginning of the novel, is fearful, angry, and depressed. After meeting Leslie, Jesses life is transformed. He becomes courageous and learns to let go of his frustration. The novels content has been the frequent target of censors and appears at number eight on the American Library Association list of the 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books for the decade 1990–2000.[1] The book is studied in English studies classes in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and the United States. Bridge to Terabithia has been adapted for the screen twice: a 1985 PBS TV movie and a 2007 Disney/Walden Media feature film.

20-11-2024This is a very sweet story of two young, full of adventure kids who become very close. It is sad when one dies but there are many lessons to be learned from viewing this movie.
