> 3 dayI use this infrequently, so I appreciate the fact that it has not rusted while in my very humid garage. How they do this without oil is unknown to me, but appreciated. I love the finish I get by rubbing out shellac with this steel wool--a very pleasing satin finish.

Greater than one weekI usually use Liberon 0000 steel wool for between coat leveling, tried this to see if it was any better, or cheaper. Its an excellent product, maybe stays together a bit longer than Liberon but its pretty much a toss-up which is better. Most important is either of these products will produce much better results than the garden variety 0000 youll find at hardware or big box stores at a much lower price. Compared side-by-side there is no comparison, theyre two completely different products, and worth the extra bucks if youre serious about your work. eBays the cheapest place to buy either, and theyre both about the same price. Buying by the 225-250g roll is most economical

> 3 dayCleaned and refinished kitchen cabinets with this, Murphys oil soap, and tung oil. Very good and reasonably priced 0000 steelwool.

> 3 dayThis steel wool is great. No oil, so no contamination to your finish by the oil that is used to manufacture steel wool. With this (0000), I apply a new coating of dark stain (apply along the grain, not perpendicular), then buff it and move on to the next section. One caveat, if you’re using Briwax make sure you have plenty proper ventilation!

> 3 dayI added to vinegar in a Mason jar to create a natural stain. It was obvious this steel wool strand size is very fine. I have plenty left to try on some delicate polishing. Wish I could recommend one way or another but I dont feel qualified to do so with how I used it.

Greater than one weekNo film and very smooth finish for rub oil finishes. So smooth final coats required no polish or buffing. If you re careful with final application.

> 3 dayI finish my furniture with an oil base finish and then top with wax. This very fine wool does a great job of getting the wax into the hard to read places.
