Does not sense the power-side on any electrical outlet but senses the neutral-side. Photos show 118 volts in an outlet but the non- contact tip not able to detect it . It detects power only if touching the wire going into the outlet. Without the probe leads, I could’ve been electrocuted. Other than this it’s ok.

For the wiring test, it is excellent. Give clear indications of what wrong. The non contact voltmeter(NCV) is worthless. It has only gone off while plugged into the outlet. Still 5 stars though.

Used it for 3 or so months? Then all of a sudden it just wouldnt power on any more. Tried new batteries and nothing. Kind of a shame because I liked it when it was working, despite being rather bulky it was kinda nice to have a tick tester, volt meter, and continuity tester all in one. Didnt last long enough for me to buy again though. Note, even though the tick tester has a bunch of lights, it only has 3 actual levels for proximity - low, medium, high.
