I needed to do nothing to make this work for my 10GTeks; just plugged them in, plugged this between them, turned everything on, and viola! All was well! Its just a cable, but...I dunno. I appreciated the elegance of the bag it was sent in, and it kept the fiber loops from risking pinching in shipping. Though, this cable is (knock daintily on glass) pretty rugged so far! My roommate accidentally closed it in my bedroom door, which wasnt a *tight* 90-degree turn but was tight enough that I thought the fiber was doomed...nope, it linked up fine and seems to be operating perfectly so far! Try not to do like I did, but if you DO, well, it may not be immediately destroyed!
