05-06-2025UPDATED 2-25-18 I used to love Carefresh. (I originally gave it 5 starts). However, over the the past year I’ve noticed a slight decrease in softness of the product, but it was still worth it for the price ($10 - $13 per large bag). Now that the price has increased, I cannot justify purchasing it for $19 - $20. So, I switched to small pet select, and I like it better. Its less expensive, softer, and doesn’t have the funky smell that Carefresh does.

> 3 dayThis is the best product to use for any small animal. The other are poisonous like pine, or wood shreddings.

> 3 dayDidnt much like this. Its kind of a hard material, and you have to use a lot to fill up a space. I would use it again if i have to, but its not my favorite.

> 3 dayCarefresh is great I love how it comes in a variety different colors, but once you try to fluff it up for your pet it immediately collapses back down and is hard. My hamster loves to burrow but Carefresh is not the best choice for your hamster to burrow in because it does not hold the burrow and can cause hamsters to be stressed. I would recommend Kaytee bedding or Aspen paper shaving bedding.
