I bought this long nose fly mask for Mr Black, my son’s horse. My son says it’s a nice fly mask. Mr Black wears it without complaining. Mr Black has a big head and this mask is a good fit.

This mask doesnt last long and the material wore the hair off my horses face

This fit my horse perfectly except around the nose. The adjustment Velcro needs some help to prevent the webbing from fraying or tearing at seam when the poor fit adjustment let’s the horse rub it off. My horse is a Medicine Hat tobiano saddle horse with a slim nose. The long nose horse size fit perfectly except around the nose and the adjustment Velcro wasn’t adequate for a fit that wouldn’t allow her to rub the whole thing off. After some fiddling, we rigged it to be tighter and she didn’t rub it off again(yet). I noticed a slight fraying at seam on nose piece from that one rub-off. Maybe greater care could be taken at seams. Horses WILL be horses!

I have a cremello paint gelding who sunburns badly, so masks are an important part of his life in the summer. Ive gone through so many masks with this boy. He has a talent for taking them off and losing them somewhere in his pasture. I think he enjoys taunting me while I walk the pasture trying to find his mask yet again. This mask has broken a record. This is the first mask he has ever worn that has stayed on longer than three days. He hasnt managed to get it off on his own in the month and a half hes been wearing it. And he doesnt seem to be irritated about wearing it like he has with all the others. This is the only mask that he just stands and allows me to put on him. It also looks well made and I think it might last longer than one season. Something Ive never experienced before. The velcro is still as strong as the day I put it on him and other than the days it rained and he smeared his mask in the mud it looks near new after wearing it for over a month. The long nose is the perfect length to help protect his muzzle from the sun and it fits around his head like it was custom made for him. Ill be recommending the Chahel fly masks to everyone and Ill be buying another for my gelding as soon as his current one decides its ready for retirement.

Great product but my horse had it off in 4 hours and lost in the field

I was having problems with other masks rubbing on my horses face and also not being long enough to cover him for sunburn. This does not rub and also protects him from being burnt. The only problem I had with it is that the nose section ripped on me after about a month of everyday use. I still really like it and will just sew the bottom part back on. It did what I needed for the summer.

This was the 4th fly/sun mask I tried for our basically solid white paint. He kept getting sunburned because no matter what mask he had it did not last till noon. This one secures nicely and he actually stands there each morning for me to put it on. It hasnt come off and the area around his eye does not appear to rub or bother him. Since hes had it on, he has not gotten burned. I take it off each evening, but he has kept it on overnight and didnt seem bothered or unable to see at night. The area around the nostrils gets a little dirty but its very easy to wash off. Im so glad I found this. I would highly recommend this mask.
