Outstanding calculator for any middleschool, highschool or college student. Pros: So much easier to use than ANY Ti-XX calculator Bright color backlit screen Completely intuitive interface, even if only slightly technically inclined Comes with USB cable to update OS and add apps/data tables White numeric keys Absolutely does not require a teacher to explain how to use it (unlike every Ti-XX, which requires instructions in math text books plus additional teacher tech support, just to learn the obtuse TI keystrokes) Cons: I would prefer all buttons to be white with colored lettering, rather than black with colored lettering Misc: Im dumbfounded when I hear stories of students returning Casio models and replacing them with Ti models, simply because the school teachers tell the students they dont know how to use a Casio...@@ Theyre totally missing the point!!! ... You dont need a teacher to explain it to you because Casios are so much more intuitive and easy to use! My three older kids all used the Casio FX-CG10 all through high school into college (calculus, chemistry, physics) and noted how much simpler the keystrokes were on their CG10s than all of their peers Tis. My fourth son is using the CG50 because it is simply the newer version of the CG10.

I found it much easier to use than the TI93 Plus I had, and the additional programs proved extremely helpful. Im sure Im only scratching the surface of its capabilities, but that also means I have plenty of room to grow with it. Some reviews listed the AAA batteries as a liability, but I think they are useful in their own way. Scenario: Heading to a test, you realize your battery is low. -With new rechargeable calculators, what are your options? Have your charger and cable ready, and then find a spot to stop and wait for it to charge. If you have time. -With a battery powered calculator, given the same scenario, you can either carry spares for such an occasion or swing by a convenience store and grab a pack real quick. This very situation popped up for me, and I was glad to have the latter.

Ive been using this calculator for about a year and half, and it works extremely well. Ive used the TI-84,83,82,81 models. Theyre all decent, but this has an incredibly easy to use interface. This one is clear, easy to see, has a lot more features than the TI models, and is way cheaper. I actually gave away my TI when I started using this one because of how much better this one is. If you are going into either high school or college, I would highly recommend this calculator. The only thing is sometimes the menus can be a bit confusing, but overall its an incredible buy, and is always in my backpack.

My school asked for it and it was mandatory for my school year to have this calculator. Anyway It takes a little getting used to but not to much and when you do it really is great. You can do many things and it makes life a lot easier when you learn how to use it right. definitely recommend it : )

Great Calculator! I use it for math class, and it has a very nice visual display, so it puts exponents where they should be. Can also run a gameboy emulator very easily. Prizoop works for Pokemon, installed onto calculator in 2 minutes. Great overall!

I recently ordered this calculator(fx-CG50) from Casio. Here is why you should NOT buy this calculator. I wanted to get a manual on hor to operate. No such thing. You will get a Quick start Guide: This guide is just for the very basic about this calculator. If you want to go into the advanced parts,you will be sadly out - of - luck. This, is why I say - Dont Buy unless you are a psycic who can understand everything. I doubt you will see this on their website. I hope Amazon will let this print. It is the Major drawback of this computer . Thank you. Steve Fundock.
