Chris Rock - Never Scared

In many ways, this concert is very similar to mid-70s Richard Pryor - outrageous, profane, and side-splitting funny. I never thought Id say this about Chris Rock. Sure, lots of profanity here...so if this offends you, this is not for you. To the 2-star reviewer who commented this is anti-white...lighten up. I got news for you - its 2004. Making fun of white people is OK. Especially when you do it well. The humor here is not just racial - its about men/women relationships, sex, social commentary and politics too. And lots of profanity. But really no different than most live comedians these days. As a big Richard Pryor fan, and Robin Williams too, this is right up there. From someone who was not a big fan of Chris Rock...until now!

Shipping was fast and in perfect condition. For those that Love Comedy Nights or just need a break from reality, Chris Rock is a definite must have for the collection. Chriss comedy is clever, insightful, and hits topics that everyone can relate to. This particular show in my opinion is not one of his best but still very good and entertaining.

With a Chris Rock Video; I am never disappointed. Loved it!

Chris Rock is an undisputed comic legend for his and probably any generation. He is one of the smartest,insightful,and socially aware comediens I probably have ever seen in my life.But for some reason, I dont find his stand up to be that FUNNY to me. I just dont get the same laugh out loud reactions from his punchlines that I would from a Richard Pryor or an Eddie Murphy or even a Dave Chappelle(not includingFor What Its Worth).But with Chris Rock I find myself nodding and agreeing more then actually laughing most of the time.I would however recommend this to any fan of smart,insightful,irreverent,type of comedy.Then again,Bring The Pain was probably 10 times better then this so id probably recommend that instead.

All I can ask is how the hell does he observe so much and make it funny?

He might put down white people. Hell put down black people, men and woman, relationships, The government, and even himself at times but in a funny way, about how people can be just so weird. Because the truth always makes the funniest comedy. I Got all his HBO stand up specials from the first one (Bring the Pain) in 1996...And right from the get go he had that comic genius of great timing, truth, slapstick humor and is a million times funnier than Cosby, Pryor or Eddie Murphy ever was, as far as STAND UP COMEDY goes. This comedy special here is equally as hilarious as all of his specials are. So enjoy this one. But you have to get the other 3 main ones. Bring the Pain, Bigger and Blacker and Kill the Messenger. Theyre all EXACTLY the same......Funny as Hell!!...So I guess this review is for, all four of his comedy specials also....frankm-white guy-61 yrs. old...

This Chris Rock stand-up is hilarious! The language is of course racy, but thats what makes stand-up so entertaining!

Hilarious!!

After half a decade, Chris Rock has returned to his audience with more maturity and more things to say about that world. I personally believe his political commentary hits the mark, and he exemplifies the moderate stature in this day and age very well. Aside from this, most of this performance seems a bit more bland, maybe because marraige and wealth have left him little else to say about real life. There are some extremely funny moments peppered throughout, but Never Scared pales in comparison to Bigger and Blacker by far. The inclusion of extra footage and a classic stand-up from Chris Rock on this DVD will please.
