Clover 1053/K Amour Crochet Hook, Size K/6.5mm , Green

Love it! Love my Clovers!

I ordered the 6.5 in a hurry and didn’t notice that the hook itself is plastic. As an experienced crocheter I found it very difficult to use, it’s a struggle to insert into the stitches on a previous row etc. Stick to metal or wooden hooks!

Fantastic little thing a good starter

Ive got this wool that is awful for separating, splitting. All of my other 6.5s were useless. I noticed the 6.5 clover was the plastic design. Urgh, the pull with plastic hooks, a pain. Well it was only £4 so I took my chance. What can I say, its unstoppable, it glides, its smooth its fast, its great. Dont let the plastic put you off, its brilliant.

I have the full set of Amour hooks and even have the size 0 (1.75mm) steel hook that I crochet jewelry with. Having been a Boye crochet hook user for over 40 years and never thinking I would ever like something else, for me to switch over and become a devout user, that is saying a lot.

I am disappointed in the design change of this size K crochet hook. I have all others in the series and they all have metal hooks and softer plastic cushion-y handles. This one is plastic hook and hard plastic handles. I dont like how the yarn glides through hook and handle is not as comfortable as the old handles. And if they were going to change the design from metal to plastic at least they could lower the price. Thats a lot of money for a plastic hook.I could have purchased three of the cheaper brand hooks for this price. I wish I hadnt assumed since it was the same series name that it would be aluminium.
