Have used such pencils for all my shaving life (about 60 years of it), and theyre a necessity for anyone using blade shavers. Even with superb and safe modern blades (Gillette Sensor XL, etc.) you will still get the occasional nick. I use them for task-related scrapes and cuts, too.

I nicked my chocolate labs quick, and it began to bleed so bad! I use this, and within seconds it stopped. This could have been really bad if not for this. I keep one in our medical kit, her bag and the car. You never know when it can be used.
