> 3 dayWhen you buy this, make sure to budget for mounting hardware and an external antenna, and a power adapter, depending on how you are going to install it. It comes with everything you need to mount it to your vehicles electrical system, but if you want it very mobile, then you might want to buy a power port adapter. We wanted it to use between vehicles for when we go on longer trips, and its really perfect for that if you get a antenna that can be moved but they can withstand highway speeds. It comes with information on how to use it, but thats really very simple. It doesnt come with information on how to really install it which is what you need! Its a good little unit with clear transmission, and the cord is long enough if its in the middle that both passengers in the front can easily use it. Unfortunately a lot of truckers these days are using the internet and headsets to communicate. Theres very little traffic locally here! When we realize this we ask around and thats when we found out that some trucking companies have banned CBS all together-stating that insurance and distracted driving rules wouldnt let them have them. I checked distracted driving laws in Georgia and it allows for CBs. It might be different from state to state.

> 3 dayThis is a very small CB solution that works quite well. Its just best when you already have an antenna (or adapter if you plan to plug it into your 12v). We had neither, but we went into it knowing this (and knowing it didnt come with these items). It doesnt use the normal adapter for power though. We wound up buying the RoadPro RPPS-220 Platinum Series 12V 3-Pin Plug Fused Replacement CB Power Cord and simply lopped off the connector and spliced the wires together using wire connectors. It works perfectly fine using that 12v adapter and should work just as well with similar options. We have used a few different antennas but didnt quite have the right ones in our arsenal of accessories. We also knew this going into it, so we ordered coax to UHF adapters so we could use the ones we had with it. It does work, although we dont have any advice for getting it just right since we cant modify those antennas. We will have to come back at a later time when we have one we can properly match to the radio for the best performance. **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. > 3 dayThe COBRA 19 MINI model is small measuring four inches (4”) wide x four-one half inches (4-1/2”) deep from front of knob to end of heat sink and one inch (1”) high. The front panel LCD Display size is 5/8” High x 2-1/2” wide. A “U” Bracket is included for mounting. The 12Volt cable is fused but only bare wire at end. No 12Volt adapter plug is included with the radio. The microphone is full size i found comfortable to hold and operate. Though small size, the front panel CONTROLS includes - Power/Volume, 9/19 instant access, Squelch and Menu. The Volume control also is used for Channel Control, Squelch/ASQ Control and Menu. The Up/Down button on microphone can be used for some of the functions controlled by Volume knob. The Squelch and automatic squelch (ASQ) both have levels of adjustment plus levels of automatic operation. I like the small size for the flexibility of mounting. I move between several vehicle. Using Hook and Loop wide tape mounting is available where I do not want holes for screws. In both case for me a place on each vehicles center console offers best placement. The microphone lays on console as I did not use its mounting clip. The lightweight and small size affords this capability for my applications. Recommended Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star

> 3 dayI received this radio yesterday. I know what is supposed to be with it as I read it thoroughly. It came in a plastic bag wrapped up. There was a cigarette lighter adapter still attached to the power cable duct taped together. Looks like it was either used or a prior return. I ordered new so i expected that. Submitted for replacement this morning, will update should this go smooth

> 3 dayPersonally, I go WAY back with CB radio, when it was in its heyday around 1974. My first rig was a home base consisting of the classic Lafayette Comstat 25B (vacuum tubes!), a Turner Plus-Three desk microphone, along with a 20’ omnidirectional antenna on the roof of my two-story house. It was a great set-up and over those years I met so many wonderful people, some of which I still keep in contact with to this very day. Cobra has always been a great brand in the CB arena, and this unit is no exception. Though it’s so tiny, they’ve really packed a ton of function into it: - Full 4 watts of transmission power, the maximum allowable by the FCC. - Dedicated button to instantly toggle between channel 9 (emergency) and 19 (a trucker favorite). - Good mic with thick coiled wire. A nice touch there are two additional buttons on top, to quickly switch between channels. - VOX capability, so you never need to take your hands off the steering wheel. - Automatic and manual squelch. - Adjustable RF gain. - S/RF meter. - Accommodates an external speaker. - And more! Its antenna jack is a standard S0239, which accepts a PL259 connector. I purchased a 20” center-loaded magnetic roof antenna and amazingly even within the city I can easily get a good 5 miles of transmission distance out of it across all channels I’ve tried, with no SWR antenna tuning required. However, where a CB really shines these days is on the highway, since they remain popular with truckers who routinely transmit invaluable information such as traffic accidents and speed traps. Also, on those open roads my transmission distance at least doubles, since there are far less obstructions. Power connection is bare wire, but I simply attached that to a cigarette lighter adapter using heat shrink butt terminals so it can be stored in the trunk when not in use. For permanent installations, you can of course use any available 12V power source within your vehicle. If you decide to go that route, all required mounting hardware is supplied, including a microphone bracket. As far as documentation, only a “quick start” guide is included which may not be detailed enough for beginners. That said, be aware that you can download the complete owner’s manual at the Cobra web site within their “Support” section, in three different languages. There’s also a page there with Basics, Tech Tips, Troubleshooting, and FAQs. Whether you’re just curious about the world of CB or an experienced enthusiast, this radio certainly won’t disappoint, especially at this modest asking price.

> 3 dayI ordered this CB radio for camping use: road reports are helpful, and the radio can provide emergency communications in areas without cell towers. This compact CB radio is about the size of a margarine box, and it provides easy-to-use full functionality. The radio main controls are an ON / OFF / volume knob, a push button that cycles channel 9 / channel 19 / selected channel, and a hand microphone with PTT switch plus UP / DOWN buttons for selecting channels. The package includes a mounting bracket, a microphone bracket, necessary mounting hardware, and a terse Quick Start Guide (that includes a URL to download the full user manual). The radio has an internal speaker plus a 3.5 mm rear socket to connect an external speaker. The (not included) CB antenna connects to an SO-239 rear socket, and hardwired power leads (with an inline fuse) extend from the radio rear. I terminated the power leads in a (ASIN B08SM6GHMH not included) clip-on DC power standard connector, allowing me to power the radio from a bench power supply or to use the radio in multiple vehicles. Between camping trips the CB radio and a compact magnetic mount antenna (ASIN B097R9HY22 not included) wait in my bugout bag.
