> 24 hourThis new antenna analyzer by Comet is great. It is very solidly constructed. I love the combination of analog needles and the digital lcd display. The ham radio presets are perfect. I recently installed several new ham radio antennas and used this meter to adjust and test each one before connecting to my radios. The band sweep function is great as you put the indicator on the ham band you will be testing. Then press the band sweep button and a swr curve is displayed on the lcd screen across the entire frequency range being tested. This unit will also graph and overlap up to 5 readings, perfect for making antenna adjustments and seeing how the changes have affected the swr. I highly recommend purchasing the optional soft case as this is a very high precision testing instrument that you will want to protect. It also runs on either 6 alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries and includes a built in battery charger. An optional ac-dc adapter is required and can be used to power the unit or recharge the batteries. The one thing to keep in mind with this analyzer is that it does not compensate for coax cable connected to the antenna. You will need to use a very short piece of coax cable while testing but this is not a great problem. As a ham radio operator, I highly recommend this antenna analyzer for any shack since it is both a precision and cost effective solution for testing and tuning your antennas!

> 24 hourIve likely tuned hundreds of antennas SWR over my year using the old method of checking each end of a band and adjusting a bit to center the dip. I looked long and hard at the cheap $30 and $40 meters and Ive had so much bad luck with them I thought about getting something better ... and ended up getting WAY BETTER! The meter is so simple to use. You select the correct output 2M and above or 2M and below and connect the antenna up to the meter. Twist one knob to select the band and the other to pick the frequency inside that band and the cross needles indicate the SWR and the impedance of the antenna. Press a button and the meter will sweep the band displaying the slope on the small color screen. With HF bands this is very handy to see just what the SWR is across a wide number of frequencies. Tuning dual and tri-band VHF/UHF antennas on my Jeep was simple. The only thing missing is a USB port to off load screen captures of the SWR plots.

> 24 hourIve been wanting/needing an analizer for a long time now, been borrowing friends MFJ products and just never wanted to buy one of those. When I found the Comet CAA-500 and read about it, I was excited to give it a try. After having it for months now and allowing my friends to use it and compare to the MFJ products, it stacks up pretty well. In fact my friends are all wanting the Comet product now and appreciate its superior quality. I bought a small aluminum case from Harbor Freight to store/transport it in and it travels well. I love its capabilities and overall quality. Recommended product.

> 24 hourMy concern was being able to see the display in bright sun light. No problem and having the analog meter is a great help. Highly recommend.
