Greater than one weekI have used these shims several places around the house. From a upright dressers that would shake when you walk by, but dont now, to one of th toilets that had a slight rock in it. They are very easy to use and you get a nice volume of the in the pack. Ive had them in place for a bit now and the pieces havent shifted or settled into a new shape. I did have one issue with the breakaway where it didnt break in one spot as it there was extra material there however a utility knife did the job. But this was one situation out of a dozen which did breakaway the excess on the first try. This is perfect for older houses where the floors arent as perfectly flat as they used to be!

> 3 dayIve been buying these plastic shims at the big box store for our remodeling project, they wont ever rot or degrade from moisture and they are very difficult (but not impossible) to crush. They are a bit cheaper on Amazon than they are in the retail store, and I honestly cant tell the difference except for the bulk packaging. I find these are easiest to cut off after placement using an oscillating tool as opposed to a razor knife. I dont think I will ever go back to using soft wood shims after my experience with these. Recommended for any building or remodeling project you have coming up!

Greater than one weekThese composite shims are some of the handiest things for remodeling that Ive come across. Were always working on something around this old house, and it seems like nothing is ever level. So, shims are pretty much a necessity. These are great and they hold so much more weight than the softer wooden shims. These are scored so they can easily be cut to size, and I dont worry about them degrading due to weather. As far as Im concerned, these are the only shims well be using from now on. The price is reasonable and the quality is good, making these a good value for the money.

> 3 dayJust like duct tape you will find so many uses for them inside and outside the house. You will be suprised at everything you will grab a shim for. I just recieved these and have already used a couple of them. Hopefully this bag will last me a while. Good price for the quantity you get.

> 3 dayThese are just like any other composite shim at initial inspection. I have no doubts that they will work the same too. No complaints here.

> 3 dayI didnt even realize they sold sets of shims like this! What an amazing find! I normally use broken off popsicle sticks to slip underneath wobbly tables and storage racks. They are easy to use, you just snap them off to the size you need. With this set of 40 8 shims, I can pinpoint the exact height I need to stop a wobble and it looks decent, not like a bunch of broken sticks, haha! Since these are made from sturdy plastic, they can be used in wet, and rough environments, like the garage, sunroom, and workshop. You can also use these outside on the patio or deck to make a plant stand more sturdy, and stop the umbrella in the patio table from wobbling when you make the table itself wobble-free! I would recommend this pack of shims to anyone- the price is very low, and you can always use these around the house.

10-06-2025I have used wooden shims for over 50 years to level up appliances and various furniture pieces. I ordered these as soon as I saw them because they seem to have several advantages. Composite shims should hold up better is basements, garages, etc. Because they are black, they are not as noticeable in most installations. Although they are not quite as easy to break as the product description indicates, I have found them much easier than wood, especially on the thicker end of the shim. I am a fan, and would recommend them for all types of appliance and furniture leveling. The other place that shims get used a lot is in door and window installations. I havent had the opportunity to use these composite shims in those applications yet, but it seems that the same advantages should apply there too. I like these shims a lot and am very happy with the ones Ive used.
