There are other extruders on the market, maybe a few dollars cheaper, but this one works much better I can say this with experience. First, this comes with instructions and all the right parts to install it. Other extruders do not, off branded ones, and this will waste your time and leave you frustrated with a bunch of parts that are useless to you after you figure out that you dont have any of the right fitted parts. Second, it started extruding like a champ on the first print. If your looking for a replacment/metal extruders for ender 3 /voxelab aquila just get this one.

I recently install part to upgrade my ender 3 v2 to begin printing petg which need hotter temperatures. Install very easy but every since I installed part my extruder been skipping, I spent 2 days adjusting and removing and reinstalling and found at its lowest tensioner adjustment it was crushing the filament and stopping up nozzle & tube.

Dimensionally identical to the plastic setup that comes stock on the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro. It’s a direct bolt on swap. You don’t even have to worry about the pressed on brass gear on the stepper. Just leave it alone and it works with this one just fine.

I installed this on my CR10 Mini and it made such a difference. My printer came stock with a plastic version of the same thing. The main difference is the cap under the spring that allows you to adjust the tension. I was having an issue where the extruder bearing was slipping; this didnt ruin prints but definitely caused some extrusion problems. I tried some other extruder parts from Thingiverse that others had created but they didnt quite cut it. After I installed this, I was able to eliminate my problem and my print quality significantly improved. Its such a cheap upgrade and SO worth doing. This and some Capricorn PTFE tubing. Just do it. Edit: Ive had this on my CR10 Mini for close to a year now and havent had any issues with it. I print using PLA and PETG most of the time, so I cant speak to how well it handles flexible filaments.

Great metal extruder package. Includes everything you need to get set up except the motor. The one that came with the printer slowly developed another entrance hole from the filament rubbing. This should solve the problem.

What can I say to convince you to get this? Let me start with what I am running. I have an ender 3 v2 with a hictop pei flex bed plate. Updated bed springs, and that’s really all. For the time of owning this printer I’ve upgraded a few things but never the extruder component. Didn’t think it was a necessity, I mean I was getting prints right? Would something so simple make that much of a difference? Well one day trying to print and my filament was not being extruded correctly. My e-steps, I thought we’re on point but i increased them to see if that would fix it. No amount of increase helped, it was inconsistent, spotty, crappy, and down right disgusting. I took apart the plastic extruder to find the arm had cracked along the gear housing, just like so many people have happen before. I looked at dual gear extruders, not knowing if it would be that important for what I print and decided to get this one. Immediately after instal I checked my e-steps and once I returned it to where it was before, 97.2, it was extruding perfectly. The upgrade all metal extruder almost seemed to be too stiff, I was worried that it would chew the filament because of how tight it seemed. Leveled the bed again, ran the test prints to ensure the leveling was on point. The filament is running so constantly, I haven’t had and issues with what I was before. So printed a Pokémon, fidget spinner, and a few other things. All came out perfect. I was getting results I hadn’t gotten before. I know they say that this won’t really improve print quality but I argue that 100 percent. Why wouldn’t creality include this off the factory floor? It’s such a blessing to have my worries about prints failing lessened. My prints have such a smooth finish it’s amazing this is still the same printer. I’m not getting those whispy filament pieces from travel, I’m able to increase the printing speed, and I’m not running the temps as hot as I was before. Yes I’m sure you need to make sure your slicer settings are tuned in. The thing is, my slicer settings were tuned when I was running the old extruder. My setting were tuned to make up for the unknown issues of the plastic extruder. So in short, GET THIS, get it as soon as possible, this should one of the first things to upgrade.
