Greater than one weekI have installed several of these and a couple of Samsung SSDs as well. I use an external enclosure with a built-in SATA to USB interface and then plug the external enclosure with SSD installed into a USB port on my computer. Crucial provides a link to a free disk copy utility to clone your existing hard disk over to the SSD. After a successful cloning, you open your computer, remove the old hard drive and install the SSD in its place. Then close up your computer, power it up and test it. If youre working with a laptop, you should always unplug it and remove the battery pack before you open the case. With a desktop computer, you should always unplug it from the wall outlet before opening it. Note that some older laptops placed the hard drive in a sort of drawer that could be removed without opening the case while most newer laptops require removing at least a part of the bottom of the case. If you dont know how to do this, better ask for some help.

> 3 dayI purchased two at the same time for my computers. One has failed (short circuited) within 3 months of purchase. It is outside of Amazons return window.

> 3 dayStart up takes 15 secs vs 1 min and 50 secs. Amazing speed without lag. Love it. Performance improved a lot as well without upgrading my ram. Lol, nice!

Mostly Happy Customer
19-11-2024Havent had this long, but it seems to be functioning great. Came with a nice users manual which I tossed out, cuz Im a man. Physically installing was easy and my PC had no issues accepting it. I can not speak for its booting abilities, as its installed as a storage drive, but theres no lag when opening or executing files. Im happy with the purchase. From what Ive read, Crucial makes good products at a lower price compared to many other brands. Could it be, the others use better Ones and Zeros? IDK... I do know, Im about to purchase some RAM next and Crucials price looks pretty darn good. I would suggest this to a friend, but theyre all out riding their motorcycles. While Im always busy fixing the familys computers. JK... I dont have any friends, but if I did... I would suggest it to them, that they should buy this SSD. 5.5 STARS BABY!

> 3 dayAdded 16 GB of Memory and this Crucial SSD to my older Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 laptop. Now its about 10 times faster! A lot cheaper than buying a comparable new computer. Highly recommend this SSD to speed up your laptop.

> 3 dayCrucial makes some great drives. Their SSDs are far better than Corsair in the reliability department. Using this for my gaming drive now on an old PC. Helped quite a bit for load times.
