> 24 hourI had just noticed that my desktop motherboard supports M.2 SSD drives so I thought Id give this a try. Its very fast (it has made booting Windows 10 much, much faster) and it offers enough space for what I regularly need and then some.

> 24 hourCrucial P1 1TB 3D NAND NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD - Worth buy. Blazing fast performance. I could install Windows 10 (licensed) in 6 - 7 minutes flat. Works perfectly with my ASUS PRIME Z490-A motherboard.

> 24 hourAs a veteran of the days when having a 10 Mb hard drive was a REALLY big deal, I feel kind of whiney complaining about getting near the end of capacity in my 512 Gb NVME drive. But, its not me writing drivers of a couple hundred Mb, so Ill just continue to make sure Ive got enough storage of the right type. That 512 Gb NVME drive is by FAR the greatest single step in improvement in the performance in my otherwise kinda mundane low-TDP i3 ITX machine. But, as mentioned earlier, I was running out of space and opted to double storage for a manageable price at the same time I was upgrading from W7 to W10. Thats all done now, and I even salvaged the 512 Gb unit in an NVME adapter that sits on the PCI bus, so its at least in the same ballpark as the one on the back of the motherboard. All of the Windows transition stuff is now done, the MB is back in the MITX case, and the fan is barely audible as I type this. My computing life is nearly back to normal, where its just a tool instead of a big honking chunk of work. And did I mention there was not even a single issue with the Crucial 1Tb drive - no funky pre-driver before the OS could even see it, no nothing but plug it in, tighten the screw, and start loading software. Ahhhh!
