Daiwa CS-201A 2 Position Coax Switch

Great switch, good isolation, just wish the unused position was grounded.

Im pretty disappointed with this switch. It took me a while to figure out what had happened to my signal! I dont think this switch is designed for UHF. Amazon will not pickup the item so its going into the drawer of disuse. Waste of money.

Good SHORTING coax switch. Contrary to some reviews here, the version of the switch I received does indeed short the center conductor of the non-selected connector (port) to the switch case, and hence to the coax shields of connected cables, and to ground if the coax switch case is grounded, as it should be in many installations.. Tech data on any of the major ham radio equipment supplier Web sites will confirm this. In many cases, this shorting is good, but may not be appropriate if this switch is used to connect one of two transmitters to an amplifier, antenna tuner, or antenna - keying a transceiver transmitter into a short circuit will be hard on your transmitter final amplifier - unless you like the hassle and cost of replacing final amp transistors :)

Using it to switch between antenna and dummy load on HF.

Beautiful positive action with super solid construction. I tested this switch at 1kVAC for 3 mins with zero leakage and 3kVAC for 30 secs with no breakover. This IS the switch youve been looking for.

Heavy, strong, effective. I switch this between my J-Pole doubling as a lightning rod and a dummy load. Super nice to have around.

Its very good. Sturdy. I cant say anything technical about the electrical quality because I have never bench tested it. But it switches my ham gear without any issues - running up to 120 watts. The first switch is over 10 years old and I expect nothing less of this second one. Its exactly the same design!

Excellent switch. It switches better than other switches switch.

Switch has good positive snap action and quality connectors. Measured less than 0.1 dB insertion loss 1 - 30 MHz, no measurable effect on SWR. A little more expensive than some but I think it is worth it. Can be mounted either through the back plate using the two holes visible in the product photo (screws included) or on the back is a tab so it can be hung with one screw like a picture frame. Recommended.
