Great Monitor, no mention of HDR but that did slip my mind while shopping for this monitor, I searched for AMD Freesync and found this monitor. 144hz is plug and play, there are a couple of game modes, you can pick between but im really not clear what it does, I set it to faster which is the middle between the three options. I was happy with the monitor after that so I didnt look further into the settings. Monitor turns on automatically when I power on the machine which is a nice feature, This monitor comes with a stand an HDMI and Power cord. I didnt use the stand that is came with, Instead I removed the m4 screws that were already installed on the monitor and Vesa mounted it on my desk. I am using the 24 inch version and when I saw how good this was I kinda wished a got a bigger size screen, lol.

Its advertised as 144Hz but it comes with an HDMI cable which only allows up to 120Hz in HD. I suppose I have to buy a DisplayPort cable or HDMI 1.3 above? Also, the colors look kinda bland, and different presets barely do anything to help. My previous 60Hz $70 monitor had better vivid coloring, and this monitor is more than twice the price (over $150). Its all right.

This monitor is an average gaming monitor but a good bang for your buck. If you turn the response time to “extreme” you will get a ghosting effect. (If you don’t know much about monitors, look up monitor ghosting on YouTube) I had to lower the setting down for my colors to get better in higher FPS games. If I had to redo my purchase, I might’ve saved up my money to get a better quality monitor

id say this is one of the better TN panels Ive worked on, colors are slightly washed out from the factory, but going into windows color calibration helped fix the issue. Have an IPS panel next to it so I can tell the slight color differences but if you only have one monitor, you would probably never notice. good to note that it comes with a very sturdy stand and that it is indeed VESA mountable (unlike the reviews and answers say)

Love this thing. Mainly play apex and cod. Blows my more expensive acer away! Highly recommended

Bought this monitor for my husband because of the good reviews but his experience with it was very bad. Heres his review Issues: 1. All the built in presets look washed out. Seriously? This was Dells chance to impress but all settings are horrible. Did some googling and cant find a good custom setting that suits my taste. With all the great reviews saying the picture quality is great... Im left to wonder HOW?? Maybe I got a dud. 2. Pixelating display for some games. There is visible pixelation when you focus on certain objects on the screen, the pixelation goes away once you stop moving. I dont know if this is another form of ghosting, I didnt feel like I wanted to waste my time finding a solution for it. None of these issues appeared in older less expensive monitor that Ive used 3. I know its a TN panel but even the slightest vertical head movement would result in contrast change, pair that with the washed color... its really not acceptable for the price you are paying Returned. Sad, I wanted to like it and Ive been using Dell products for a long time and this one was a big disappointment. Bought an ASUS VG259Q... the difference was night and day for an extra 50$. None of the problems above, not all presets was to my liking but none of them appeared washed. Glad I returned this Dell and went with the other brand.

I bought a BenQ XL2411P for Christmas here on Amazon, it arrived in two days, needless to say I couldnt wait until Dec 25th so I opened it and tried it out. I honestly dont understand the hype. The Ghosting was so bad (that is an understatement) I tried to find a solution online and all I can read on the forums were to turn on blurr correction, configure it etc. I spent an entire day trying to fix the ghosting issue. I gave up and sent it back. After looking for monitors an entire day I had two more on the list this DELL S2421HGF and a ViewSonic Gaming monitor that was twice the price. Well being that this one was $199 I went ahead and clicked on buy. The monitor arrived 2 days later. The colors are not as great as a VA or an IPS, but I am so impressed at the almost no visible Ghosting this monitor is capable of. I am never going with another cheap brand ever again. Dont buy into the hype. Honestly Im starting to wonder if those reviews are real since I cant comprehend how someone could settle for such bad ghosting. Purchase the true and tried brands that have succeeded here in the U.S (Dell, ViewSonic, Samsung, LG etc.) You will not be disappointed with this monitor if youre on a budget. This Dell S2421HGF beats my old Viotek 1440p 144hz VA display, it destroys the overhyped BenQ XL2411P that has so bad Ghosting that it feels like every game is on Nitrous from Need for Speed. If you want smooth gameplay this is it.

S2421HGF So when I ordered this product, I was under the impression that it was a freesync monitor. The listing mentioned that almost everywhere. Upon receiving the monitor, I noticed on the box that it is a Gsync monitor. No where on the box does it mention anything about freesync. This really isnt an issue for me but it is a little frustrating being mislead. Now onto the good parts of the monitor... PS5 120HZ Compatible via HDMI. This is a big deal for me since my last monitor supported 240hz only via display port. So if youre looking to buy this monitor for the PS5 or even XBX (not sure about Xbox but it should run) then get it. Next up I want to talk about the menu HUD. It is really intuitive, fast, and has a joystick for easy navigating the menu. This is a huge plus for people who like to change their settings frequently. Display quality is okay. Its a gaming monitor after all. The panel is a TN panel from the looks of it so if you were expecting a IPS panel look somewhere else. This isnt a huge deal for me because I bought this monitor specifically for gaming. If you look at the monitor from an angle, it is obviously not going to look as good if you were looking at it straight on. The brightness is quite good. I am currently using it in my room with 3 lights on and it doesnt seem to affect it at all. Most monitors nowadays have good brightness. So my final verdict: This monitor is good but just so you know this is a gsync monitor as far as I can tell. It games really well. Smooth and fast response time that is PS5 ready. Has a good okay quality display with a TN panel that performs well in a bright room.

Do not purchase technology that is anything else but brand new. Ordered 3 for black Friday , one new, one new with damaged box, and one used. the new with damaged box one was practically dead on arrival, top left corner delaminated with dead pixels, while the rest of the screen suffered from horrible screen tearing. Despite what was advertised this damaged monitor was considered used so i could not get a replacement and instead got a small discount to repurchase the item.
