19-11-2024I bought this 1920x1080 (FHD) monitor for mostly text applications (Word documents and web pages) on Windows 10 based on the glowing reviews for document viewing. However I didnt like the pixelated/jagged edges of the fonts. Then I upgraded to a 2560x1440 (QHD) resolution monitor, and it made a day & night difference in text quality. The text is so much smoother at QHD resolution vs. this FHD resolution. When the text is smoother it is less straining to look at for a long time. Microsoft ClearType uses the extra resolution to smooth the fonts, and you can still keep the text at the same size as it would show on this monitor. On a QHD monitor the ideal setting is to set the Windows Display Scaling to 125% and you will have about the same size icons, web pages, task bar, etc. as this monitor with its scaling at 100% -- but with superior smoothing. The price difference is small to bump up to a QHD resolution monitor so I would highly recommend one of those instead.

> 3 dayI really like this monitor. Its a great size and adjusts lower than most Ive seen. Its a bit bright, but I suspect I could adjust that. Great resolution and display quality for software development and an occasional streamed movie. No complaints.

> 3 dayLove this monitor. I was using two monitors and now I can use the split screen feature and still use it like I have two monitors. Perfect.

> 3 dayI bought two of these and have them set up on a stand on my desk at home. The light weight is important for the stand I am using. I use both the HDMI and DisplayPort connections to handle several computers. I was initially annoyed that when one computer turned off its display output, the monitor would automatically switch to another input. I found that there is a menu selection to change this behavior. I have been very happy with both of mine.

> 3 dayyes, you could upgrade to the Dell U series for far more money, but for the average user / businessperson, the P series are the best value for the money out there, imho. Very nice on the eyes, easy to work with all day, and very accommodating to the average modern computer with USB-C ports, and HDMI outputs are easy to connect to todays laptops. Works great with Macs or PCs, no worries. The Displayports are another matter, these do not easily work with Mac computers, be warned, especially if you are using any form of dock.

> 3 dayThis monitor did exactly what I needed. I needed a second monitor to view certain documents and applications in portrait mode and this monitor does exactly that. Pretty much every monitor does that actually but you have to find one that has a rotating stand, or, a monitor with VESA mount and you buy a separate stand. So, this is basically a $199 monitor with a rotating stand. Now, the issue I ran into and it took me a while to figure out my solution was getting my Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti to allow me to have 1 monitor running on the single HDMI port and 1 monitor running off the displayport port. You would think this was a no-brainer (and usually is) - just plug them in and off you go. However, mine wasnt working right off the bat. I was getting no signal on the monitor from the displayport on the Nvidia card. Long story short, it turned out certain Nvidia cards (mine is one) needed a firmware update for the displayport to work properly. Once I installed the firmware update (the firmware update is completely separate from the Nvidia drivers package) everything worked like a champ. So, in summary, I give 4 stars to the monitor (nice picture, not totally washed out, sparce on features.) I give 5 stars for the value/cost of the monitor. I purchased at $199 which (from looking around) seemed a good $50-80 cheaper than most vendors who are selling the same Dell Professional line (P monitor) of monitors. I dont know if this is a good gaming monitor by todays standards so if youre looking for that then I suggest moving your monitor budget up around $400. If you need a solid productivity monitor for work/office/etc - this monitor is perfect.
