Dell Performance Dock - WD19DCS Docking Station with 240W Power Adapter (Provides 210W Power Delivery; 90W to Non-Dell Systems)

The dock has a couple of issues. FIrst there is an internal fan which keeps going off that gets annoying after a while. Second, and worse, is that if I use the dock with an HDMI monitor and try to screen share with Zoom, it causes the screen to flash on and off wildly until the port completely disconnects from the computer (with the usual sound). Last time I had to completely reboot my Precision laptop AND cut power to the dock to get my monitor working again. (Tried reboot first, no cigar. Had to do both.) I was trying to present on Zoom and that wasnt a good outcome. Since then I plug my HDMI monitor into the laptop port, that works, but nullifies some of the reason for shelling out big bucks for the dock. For the price, and connecting it to a NEW Precision 7760 (Late 2021) Im not too impressed.

Arbitrarily stops working at random times. I’ve had mine for less than 3 months and it suddenly won’t turn on. I checked multiple other devices against the power outlet and confirmed the outlet works fine. The instructions for troubleshooting are not helpful. The product itself is junk.

Ive had this docking station replaced TWICE. Each unit last six to eight weeks before it begins to fail. Dell cant seem to figure out why this docking station keeps failing when used with my Pecision laptop. The laptop is nine months old and I get an error message during boot up that the docking station is failing. Uggh! I am so sick of this. Do not purchase this unit.

If youre looking for a dainty little dock that fits in your pocket, this dock is not for you! I ordered this for my Dell XPS 17 (9720) after going through 2 other docks (WD19S and D600S) as they were not powerful enough to get fast charge and full running power/performance. I think the WD19S may have worked as far as power goes, but the seller put lies on their description and made me angry enough to return it. This thing has a 210W power supply and 2 USB-C charging cables that are lined up perfectly to plug into my laptop. It appears to be working great so far and there is absolutely no degradation in performance due to lack of power. The power supply is huge, so be prepared if youre concerned about space/clutter. I would definitely recommend this dock if you have a newer gaming/performance laptop. My only issue with it is there are only (2) USB-3 and (1) USB-A connector(s).

We just got the docking station, it works great as expected. The size is perfect, not taking too much space. We use it for setting up a laptop and 2 DELL monitors.

So far this works well with no issues. Grateful to have found it for a relatively cheap price

This uses 2 THICK USBC cables that dont lock into the laptop all that well. Its pretty easy to nudge one and have it come disconnected. You also need about 4-5 inches of space next to the laptop to fit these cables. they do not bend and if you push them its easy to come disconnected. I had to order a second USB dock to attach to this dock to get more ports. Also had to order a USB->3.5mm headphone adapter because this doesnt have 3.5mm output or input. Pros - this can provide a LOT of power and support 3 monitors Cons - Dock is large. Power brick is gigantic. only has 3 usbA ports and 2 USBC ports. Portable is not a word i would use to describe this. My old laptop had a dock that it snapped into and provided power and more ports. I wish this was setup like that and just used the 2 USBC ports to attach. This would also lift the laptop since mine seems to have pretty limited airflow under it. Used on a Dell Precision 5570

These docking stations are the only ones that I could find to support the high end laptops. Power requirements on these higher performance laptops are outside the reach of most. With that you need to be careful and make sure there are no other sources of heat near them as they tend to be warm during use. For the price I would think that they would be a little more resistant to heat. Keep yours in the open and not enclosed. Don’t stack with the power supply, but rather keep them separate and they will work.
