Dove Advanced Hair Series Serum-In-Oil, Regenerative Nourishment 1.69 oz

Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum-in-Oil didnt look much different than other oil based styling products Ive tried before to tame my thick, curly, color-treated, fuzzy locks, however it worked better than the others. My hair is not overly damaged (the consumers that this product is ideally made for), but color treating my grays and flat ironing on a daily basis have taken their toll. My hair isnt as shiny or smooth as I would like it to be, however after using this product Im encouraged that it certainly could be in the future. MY 2-DAY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PRODUCT: The first time I used the product I put it on my hair after my shower. I put (3) pumps of the Dove product into my hands; rubbing them together and then evenly distributing the product throughout my hair - avoiding the roots. I let my hair air dry without using any styling appliances (hairdryer, curling iron, etc...) and was very happy with the results. My hair did not look like Id stuck my finger in a light socket and there was a nice shine to my hair. It also didnt appear oily which is always my concern with these sorts of products. The second day I applied the product the same way and blew my hair dry, then used a flat iron to tame my curls. The results were very good. My hair felt soft and smooth, moved well and again, I noted a shininess without an oily texture to my hair. Later the second day I applied one pump of the Regenerative Nourishment into my hands (rubbing them to distribute the product) and then gently went through my hair; again avoiding the roots. I wasnt as happy with applying this product to dry hair as it did look a touch oily to me, but this was expected and thus not enough reason for me to remove a star from my review. CONCLUSION - ILL KEEP USING IT: According to the box this product is a ...specific daily program for damaged, over-processed hair, making it smoother and stronger against breakage - as if damage never happened. Shiny and manageable are the goals, and I would agree that this product does it well. Im always looking for a combination of products that produces salon quality results. The way your hair feels right after your stylist does it and you leave the salon. This product worked well enough on my hair to make me think that I need to check out the other products in the Dove Regenerative Nourishment line, and perhaps in the future I can truly obtain hair happiness once more!

I have very thick, curly hair, and defrizzing serum is my go-to. As a long time fan of BioSilk, Im often tempted by other brands to avoid the steep price tag. Dove Regenerative Nourishment might not be a whole lot cheaper, but its certainly a competitive product. Just 3-4 tiny pumps on towel dry hair keeps my curls shiny and together all day long. This stuff actually works, which is a big deal if you have hair like mine. The only downsides are the price and the buildup. With my regular brand, I can wash my hair every other day without feeling or looking greasy. With Dove, I have to wash my hair every morning, sometimes twice to get my shampoo to really lather up. This absolutely leaves buildup behind, which isnt a problem if youre used to washing every day, but thats a habit I try to avoid. Also, the price makes it pretty comparable to my regular BioSilk, so theres not much incentive to switch. Ill probably keep this around just for some variety. Even though this is a really good product, its still not the best for my needs.

Didnt work as well as expected didnt notice much difference in my hair

Very nice hair oil but I recommend knowing your hair before you pump the recommended 3-4 pumps full of oil and spread it through your hair. I have fine, thin shoulder-length hair and that much would leave me looking greasy. One pump is all I need to have shiny healthy looking hair. This has a pretty strong floral fragrance which hinders me from leaving a five star review. I would like it much better if it was mildly scented. Easy to work though the hair and lovely results.

I have been using this for a couple months now. When I bought it i had split ends and a lot of damaged ends, it has certainly helped that, and as long a you do not apply it close to your roots, it does not make your hair greasy at all which was my biggest concern.

Its oily so a little goes a long way! It does produce a nice silkily shine (especially the day after you washed your hair) but apply only to hair not scalp and one tiny pump does my entire head of shoulder length frizzy hair.

Makes hair so very soft.
