DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 - Jet Black

This is a gift he loves it! Came fast and packed well.

Came in new packaging, but after using only a few times (total maybe 6 hours), the joystick on the left is starting to ‘walk’. This controller is used only by seasoned adult gamers (no food or drink near the controller or system), and I’m not sure why it’s not working. Will only be ordering directly from So y from now on.

I like Xbox controller better but Im a ps4 dude so yeah it kinda helps to buy a new controller up date ur gaming area dont be cheap nk going to nuke us lol

I have definitely seen multiple improvements with these new PS4 controllers over the older ones. The battery lasts a lot longer, the thumbsticks are more rugged and have a better grip on them, L2 and R2 buttons are more springy (a good thing), and the thumbsticks also feel way smoother when moving them around. Other things I have noticed is that the buttons are now grey like the throwback controller and there is now a light on the touchpad. Although the last gen controllers are still pretty good, I would definitely recommend the new gen controllers for only $10 more.

I thought I was buying a new controller based on the price I paid. However; I am still satisfied with the product...considering that all other sellers rejected me because they did not want the hassle of shipping out of the US during this COVID-19 crisis. It took a very long time to get here, but I am grateful to be able to play my PS4 that was otherwise collecting dust since I left my controllers back home in the US.

Not a whole lot to say. I was skeptical if this was the new updated DualShock 4 controller as the names dont appear to be any different, the packaging didnt really say either but at the back there was an outline that showed the new cutout for the light bar in front. Im happy to say this was the new wireless controller and it works and feels great. I needed a new controller since my original controller has a terrible peeling of the analog sticks which Ive read is a common occurrence, my backup controllers directional pad has ceased functioning completely with some minor wear on the analog stick as well. This controllers analog stick feels significantly different and more durable but it also feels a touch less accurate but that could just be me not used to it. This controller runs on a newer version of Bluetooth that is more power efficient and as such the battery life is better ( I think , as this could be just because its new). The light slit at the top does look really cool especially because its just a little tapered off at the edge , its nice to have if not game changing.

This is a great controller, and overall, I am really happy with generation 8 controllers. However the ps4 controller has one major flaw. The thumbsticks are the most garbage cheapest plastic a human could ever put into a controller and honestly, with the quality of the rest of the controller, i am not sure what the heck spny was thinking. Xbox one controller got so many things right. I swap out my ps4 thumbsticks for the infinitely better xhox one thumbsticks. Overall, this is a major improvement over the crappy dualshock 3, but, those DANG thumbsticks keep me from rating this controller higher. No other gen 8 controller even has this issue. Nintendo joycons are the same basic shape but they have a better plastic on them so it works.
