> 3 dayThere are two ports on this device. A Mic input and Headphone output. I purchased this to feed audio into a audio DSP application. It works fine but has an interesting behavior. The DSP app input level meter sits at 40db with nothing applied to the mic input. As if there is a distinct/high noise floor to the Mic input. With other mic inputs on the PC, the meter sits at about 5db. I really cant hear any excessive noise on the Mic input. So this may just be a compatibility problem between the DSP app and this USB sound card which confuses the meter. Other than that, it works great.

Greater than one weekHere are the good and bad on this product. . . ADVANTAGES . 1. The product works very well. It replaces the audio output in my laptop and desktop computer, that went bad. There is no static or any audio distortion. . 2. It is plug and play. Just insert the device into a USB 2.0 port, wait for a few minutes for the computer to recognize and connect. Everything is done without a driver installation. . 3. For $10, the adapter is a steal. . 4. It is the highest rated USB audio adapter among Amazon users. On September 24, 2020, 77% are 5-stars. . . DISADVANTAGES . 1. There is a significant loss in loudness, a 5 dpi loss. However, this can be compensated by installing two freeware: FX SOUND and VIPER FOR WINDOWS. In the settings, just adjust audio output to the max. . 2. It took 20 days for the product to arrive. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- . . UPDATE 1: The product died in two days. Luckily, I purchased two. So, the defective was replaced; and the music continued. Let us see how long the second will last. . . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ . . UPDATE 2: The manufacturer replaced the defective purchase. So far, the device worked without any problems. In fact, it operated better than the motherboard audio module that went bad. There was no static, hum, or another objectionable background noise, that are common.

> 3 dayIt works for my gaming headset! Other brands have an issue with the microphone on my headset. This one did not. Definite buy!

Greater than one weekThis adapter works great. The fact that ports are on a cable rather than on a molded piece of plastic directly connected to the usb plug means there is little stress on the USB port.

> 3 dayI plugged this into a USB adapter on my MacBook Pro and nothing happened. Turns out you need to go into Settings/Sound and click the USB for sound output. This info should come with the product.

> 3 dayI had a lot of trouble with the built in sound card on my gaming motherboard. People I played with always complained that I was hard to hear or that it sounded like my mic was far away. This adapter solved my issues. I’m guessing it’s because my headset has a high impedance microphone. Another reviewer suggested this product for those cases and it worked perfectly!

> 3 dayIm a techy. I installed this on a brand new HP laptop with latest version if Win 10. It sort of works. I had to disable its built-in microphone device in device manager to get any sound out of it. Maybe it only works if a mic is plugged in or something. Not sure why. Besides that issue, it works but then stops working after a while (hours/days later), requiring a reboot to work again. You get audio codec errors in YouTube and other applications and/or it just stops delivering sound. I think its a driver problem. It just shows up as USB Audio Device, it probably needs a more specific driver. For < $10 its a known risk and this time it didnt work out, so the search is back on. Recommendation: AVOID.

> 3 dayThe output for audio to devices works fine. Only downside is the line in jack is not stereo, its mono. Try and plug a stereo device into your laptop with this and get stereo audio, you will get mono.
