Get battery for my LED ceiling fan worked right out of the gate, I hope it last thanks

Batteries have to be used for a while before Ill know about longevity, etc.

In the case of my order, the sealed package, clearly labelled of Duracell batteries, did not perform. It came from an Amazon merchant in Brooklyn NY - not Amazon itself. The package of 4 for the price seemed like a great deal. The package seemed authentic and indicated the batteries are reliably good until 2026. However, when I placed one of the batteries in our doorbell, it did not last more than half a day. So I took it out and tested it - the tester registered 0.2V. I thought this unusual given the duration that it had been deployed and the fact that these are 12V batteries. So I tested the next battery (of the four) and it registered 9.8V - straight out of the package. As I held the testers contact probes to the battery, the charge gradually dropped, and continued to do so. I contacted Amazon customer support and and they courteously and efficient processed an RMA refund. However, for me, this was unfortunate - I do not like to return items (unless they are absolutely defective, which appears to be the case). I just do not wish to add to the carbon footprint and accumulation of waste for the sake of our planets health. My next step is to do what I feel I likely shouldve done initially - purchase the batteries locally; albeit at a greater cost from a reliable merchant. I can vouch for Amazon, but not necessarily for the marketplace merchant in this case. Perhaps just a one-off. But once burned, twice shy.

Needed this for a remote light switch. Glad to see I could get Duracells and not an off brand.
