simple enough to replace in a Galaxy S7, though I did need the weird double-suction-cup iSplack device to open the case. Unfortunately, after replacing, I get staticky sounds when using the headphone jack while charging using the charging cord. Not sure if others experience the same thing, but I did not have that problem before the old jack died. Kind of a bummer, but for $4 and the ability to work around (dont charge while using), it sure beats the cost of a new phone or reliance solely on Bluetooth headphones.

Note that this comes with a protective cover of the jack end that you must remove before installing. Worked like a charm, there are videos and sites with how to replace this online. Also, you will want a new adhesive back for the phone. And use picks and special suction cup pliers with a heat gun to remove the back in order to use this. Amazon has the tools for all of this.

My Samsung Galaxy S7 was only playing sound out of the left headphone. I tried compressed air, tape on a paperclip, and a Q-tip to clean out the 3.5 mm port, but still had no sound on the right side. This replacement headphone jack did the trick! Im enjoying stereo bliss once again. The replacement part is truly an exact fit and seems to be of equal quality to the original (actually, I guess the original didnt last too long, so hopefully it proves to be better). A warning, though. The hardest part about this job is dismantling the phone. Theres an ifixit video that you can google, but just know most people will not be comfortable doing this repair. It requires a heat gun, a special suction cup tool, and some picks to remove the glued-on, fragile, glass back cover. Once removed the rest of the disassembly is pretty easy. Installing this replacement part was literally a snap. Getting the back cover glued back on is also challenging because I havent been able to find a good replacement adhesive gasket. Ive removed the back cover on my phone 3 times now (once to remove the cameras, once to replace the battery, and now for this job). The truth is, Ive never found a perfect solution for gluing the back cover back on and the water resistance is greatly affected. These are things to keep in mind if you choose to buy this part and do the job yourself. This is a good solution for me because this is my secondary work phone.

Easy to install but definitely recommend buying a back cover glass too. They break on removal.

Exactly as described. My old socket had become difficult to work with. Installation was very easy especially with YouTube tutorials.

The microphone worked but there was no audio. Completely ineffective as a repair piece for a phone.

The mic did not work after fitting I had to bend the tiny mic connector out a bit, the outermost contact, then it worked ok. Did not expect to have to do this with a new part.
