> 3 dayEl Angel/The Angel (Argentina 2018) This is a film adaptation of a real life crime drama. Carlos Robledo Puch (portryed very well by Lorenzo Ferro) was one of the more famous Argentinian Serial Killers of the early 1970s. Starting out as a disaffected teenager dabbling in petty theft, he meets (and develops a crush on) Ramón Peralta (portrayed by my fave Chino Darín)....who happens to be the son of a local criminal. The trio begin working larger and larger crimes...some of which culminate in Carlos killing the victims. This film does take some wide artistic license, portraying Carlos motivation to commit crimes as less about the money and more about winning the favor and attentions of Ramón. This unrequited love creates some amazing on screen sexual tension between the two. The film has the feel of Pulp Fiction with its retro styling and slick musical soundtrack (LOVE the Spanish version of House of the Rising Sun!) and is a great vehicle for two up and coming Latin heart-throb actors.

> 3 dayThrilling film based on a real life individual. The two young leads are excellent in their roles, convincing in the ambiguity of the characters. What is their relationship? Why do they do what they do? All seen through the taboos of the early 70s in Buenos Aires ((and around the world). The good looking main characters are juxtaposed to their evil deeds. The rest of the cast, taking a back seat to the leads, are too notch. In addition, the choice of music for the soundtrack, almost ironic at times. The cinematography gives an insight into the look of Buenos Aires in the 70s. Not for everyone because of the violence. But an excellent film that will keep you spellbound.

> 3 dayWatch the trailer, if it intrigues you (which it should) then youll like the film. Its shocking that some people are rating this poorly because its subtitled. Seriously? Anyway, Ferro is a star-in-the-making. This film is provocative, atmospheric and leaves you with burning questions that no answers will satisfy. Chino Darin gives a fantastic supporting performance and the direction is superb. Looking forward to seeing what they all do next.
