My 8 month old loves this toy! It was a joy watching him learn to open the drawer and discover the coins. As most babies do, he immediately put the coins in his mouth. The size was safe for him, he nibbled it like a cracker, but we noticed when the paint is wet from saliva, it marked up hard surfaces like a crayon! The company claims the paint is non-toxic and water-based, but I still find it concerning that the paint comes off so easily...and in my childs mouth! I believe I will keep the toy and replace the coins with wooden discs.

Hand Eye Coordination

Development of the hand eye coordination is very important for the way children play. It allows the child to understand the concept of permanent existence of objects and things that the eye can see and cant see. Meaning if the eye can not see it, it does not mean it doesn’t exist.

Concept of Permanent Existence of Objects

This exercise helps with the child development of hand eye coordination, fine motor skills, visual perception, and independent thinking. This is a great introduction to object permanence and the concept of something disappearing can still exist or if the eye can’t see it does not mean it doesn’t exist.
