> 3 dayIt has been a good and reliable PSU with a moderately powerful system (overclocked 5600x, 980 Ti). However, the fan is extremely loud and will turn on based on the power draw, not based on the temperature of the PSU, so whenever for example a game is opened, the fan cranks up to 100% immediately and is extremely loud and can be annoying. In some games, if you open a menu, the fan will slow down a lot, and then back to 100 immediately after closing the menu.

Greater than one weekMy product did not come with an AC power cable. Very disappointed. My PC also has very annoying cable whine, which according to reviews, is most likely coming from my power supply.

> 3 dayI’ve been thrashing this thing within an inch of it’s life for months now. Like 749W of it’s rated 750W @ 240V. It’s even tripped the overcurrent protection a few times, so I can confirm that safety feature works. Still going strong. I’m impressed and an EVGA customer for life if they maintain this level of quality.

> 3 dayThis may have been this particular item. But no matter what, ECO mode on or off, the fan ramps up to 100% soon as theres a game window open. For days I thought it was my case fans but upon further inspection, lo and behold its the power supply. Toms hardware seem to reviewed EVGA SuperNova G5 and came to the same conclusion its pretty much one of the loudest PSUs out there. Needless to say I returned it and hope you guys dont make the same mistake I did.

> 3 dayI usually buy platinum level psu but since EVGA 850 P2 wasnt available, I decided to take a chance on this newer EVGA psu that came out a few years ago. Its been quiet. I have read where people said theirs was noisy but I hear nothing from mine. The value of the G5 was cheaper than the P2, (I know this because my previous psu was a P2 650, and I have a P2 650 and P2 850 on my other computers). I custom build my computers. Installation was easy, especially since the 650 P2 cables were compatible with this model. NOTICE: Always verify psu cables will be compatible with each other. If you change brands, then the cables will NOT be compatible. But if it is the same brand, then look up on the brands website to see if they are compatible.
