I purchased the product assuming is 4AWG size. Is not. Is 4 gauge SAE. AWG (American Wire Gauge) wires are 3-12% larger diameter than SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), with an accompanying larger carrying capacity. The seller should clearly specify that this wire is not 4 American Wire Gauge. That is the reason for a lot of reviews saying that wire diameter is not large enough for 4awg ring terminal.

I wish I would have used this wire in some other applications because of its flexibility! I used this as part of a full solar/power system on my teardrop camper. After a year, it has held up well, giving me zero problems. It was fairly easy to install and worked as advertised. The full system provides several days of capacity when the sun is not shining (running some lights, a small cooler, and a CPAP at night). When the sun is shining (or we are on shore power) it has enough capacity to keep the batteries topped off so we can run indefinitely.

This is a 6 gauge wire labeled as 4 gauge. I use hydraulic crimpers with true spec 4 gauge wiring and wanted to try a new brand, with a 4 gauge ring terminal and proper crimp die the wire will fall out with ease. I had to switch to a 6 gauge ring terminal and dies for a proper installation. If you need to run the full 20ft and expect 150 amps this wire will not suffice. It is a good quality wire just not marketed correctly.

NOT AS ADVERTISED: Cables are nice and flexible, but are not 4 gauge. Bought these to replace worn out cables for my welder. My old cables were 4 gauge as stated by the print on the cable. these cables are almost half the size (diameter) of the old ones. These are also labeled as 4 gauge, but clearly not the same. I already opened the package and will keep them, as i am sure i will find some use for them as battery cables, or something similar. But i will be ordering a new set of REAL 4 or 2 gauge cables for my welder. Item would have received 5 stars if it were advertised for what it truly is, but it not 4 gauge cable as it is advertised.
