I read the complaints about this faceplate but I dont think they realized how much plastic film was on it to protect it. I took 3 off and its scratch free. Everything lined up and screwed together fine. Slight issue with a bit of flashing on a button hole but took 2 seconds with a hobby knife to clean it up. Looks great on the console.

The writing on the plate was faded and scratched. I was going to return it but it was thrown in the garbage before I got the chance.

The thumbstick hole was not big enough and had to be drilled - this was time consuming and difficult. I managed not to scratch the faceplate during this modification, but be aware that you will need tools and patience to even get this faceplate to work because of a flaw in its design. Also, this faceplate doesnt come with any buttons, meaning the buttons have to be removed from your previous faceplate and put into the new one. This was fine for the most part, but the bottom row of home/volume/start/select is quite flimsy, and my start button broke off during removal. It still works, but its loose and a little disappointing. Finally, the bottom of the faceplate is weirdly raised where the original is not. This means home/volume/start/select are more difficult to press. The faceplate did fit and had all the right screwholes, but i do not reccomend this product.

Avoid this shell, the HOLD led hole is empty and will therefore allow dust and debris to go into the portable handheld. The original shell case has clear plastic tabs on the holes to allow the LED to shine through, this shell is missing that important piece. Even the OE plastic piece wont work as a modification to this shell. Also needed to trim some excess plastic parts to allow the Dpad piece to fit correctly without rubbing against the the mounting hole inside. Will need to purchase another shell to replace this junk.

My original PSP 1000 had a cracked & scratched up faceplate, and this was a cheap and fast replacement. Its not the exact same. The screen is technically a separate piece from the rest of the shell, unlike the flush original version. The textured bit above the screen is also slightly different. That said, it still fits great on my 1001 and looks 90% the same.

I like how clean and new it looked. However, the molding on the inside where the buttons should be placed is off measure. My buttons are looser and my start, select, and volume buttons are not as clicky. This is a good replacement if you want a cheap option if your ok with those issues.

Everything swapped over and fit nicely without modification on my psp-1001. A little tight but it snapped on and the screws pulled it together. Has all decals, and the bottom screw hole is there. You have to push a little hard to get the screws started, but it looks nice and works well for a cheap reproduction.

Horrible fitment did not work for my 1001 I’m sure if I did some drilling to make it work it would have worked but what’s the point of buying something new if you have to mod it? It should work out the box!
