It’s a nice watch but the OS really needs work feels clumsy to get through menus. You are very limited with notifications especially with replies & no answering calls.

Its a handsome timepiece as well as a good place of gear. The strap alone makes this watch seem far superior to the competition. The built in applications are what really drive this as a must-have.

Overall I love this watch. I’ve waited several months to write a review in part to do with wanting to see how well the GPS performed after the leaves come out. It does very well. I haves used this daily in several locations in the mountains of western NC and after I learned it’s little quirks I have to give it five stars. It has been used on multiple search and rescue operations as my primary gps and all the features from the altitude, barometer, temp and location have been fairly accurate. As with anything electronic it is always back up by map and compass but I can say it’s made my daily and work life easier. The only thing I don’t like is that on my main watch face the altitude and elevation do not change unless I’m using a gps widget, I’m guessing this is in part to helping extend the battery life. Once I learned this has to be calibrated when I change areas I can say it’s an acceptable quirk. It’s a little slow when you first start up one of the many gps options but runs fast after that. Sets up to give current location in lat and long and USNG which is awesome for quickly calling in my location during rescue operations. All the other health tracking options work great and I find helpful for work outs and hiking. Watch is very durable and I love that I can read the face in any sunlight and while wearing polarized sunglasses. So far a good purchase for the needs I have.

This watch is amazing and is 1000 times better then Suunto 9.. I had to charge my Suunto every 4 days. I have had the Garmin Tactix for over a month now and have charged it 1 time.. the Garmin Connect App is also 100% better the Suuntos crappy app.. This Tactix is easy to see and easy to Navigate.. love it!!
