I just bought a Miele vacuum and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of extra bags on hand. This item is high quality and keeps most of the dust out of the air.

Ive had my RedStar vacuum for about 10 years and love it. However, the new bags are now more expensive since you get only 4 for the same price as you previously got 5 bags. Miele claims these bags hold 25% more, hence the validation of only giving 4 bags in a box. Well, I can tell you I dont see a difference in capacity. The difference I do see is in the suction.....it seems to be slightly less. Im attributing this to the thickness of the bag. I have a long-haired dog and these bags fill up so quickly. I have to sweep first to get up as much hair as I can before I vacuum. Ive always done this, but now its more crucial to prolong the use of each bags since they are now more expensive. Had I known Miele was going to redesign the bags and reduce the quantity but keep the price the same, I would have stocked up on the old bags which worked fine. I think this is just a method for charging more money per bag. Im cautious about using generic bags, so I will continue to purchase the Miele bags. However, if I ever need to replace my vacuum, I will either spend the $$$$ to get a Miele vacuum with a larger capacity or look at other brands. I chose my vacuum based on other dog owners and this was the winner. However, Miele did a disservice by changing the bag and charging more. I have ordered the Filtrete brand bags (Aug. 2011). Ill edit my review once Ive used them. Used the Filtrete bags.............love them! I think they are better than the Miele bags. You get five in a box and for less money. The suction and capacity seemed better.
